I had my annual appointment today (just the regular annual check-up, nothing fancy or exciting) and was reminded how much I adore my OB/GYN. And then that got me thinking about how we just bought a house that's 30 minutes away from said doctor and the hospital from which she works (though the hospital and her office are close to my work).
So then I started wondering what might happen when we finally decide to start a family. Do people keep doctors who are 30 minutes away??? Do I have to find a new doctor, because I REALLY don't wanna. Or can doctors work at other hospitals, especially if they're in the same...what's it called when it's just a different "branch" or whatever of the same network of hospitals? Yeah, that.

Re: random question (OB/GYN related)
Sure people do. It would be convenient to have your monthly then weekly appointments close to work. I had Maggie at a hospital 25 minutes away.

Ditto this. Completely worth the amazing care I got.

I don't have kids yet but I would have to agree with this - I would rather drive 30 minutes and love my doctor/appreciate the care I was given than go to someone closer that treated me poorly.

Sometimes I wonder if scientists have never seen a sci-fi movie before. "Oh yes, let's create a super species of deer. NOTHING COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG." I wonder if State Farm offers a Zombie Deer Attack policy. -CaliopeSpidrman
