After about 3 weeks of trying to decide what to do for DH's birthday, I decided to book a hotel. I got a really good deal at the Milennium Broadway for what will hopefully be a decent room with a view. There are some crappy reviews online, but there are some great ones too, so I guess you just never know. I figure, we'll only be sleeping there for one night, so even if the room isn't great, the location alone is worth the price.
Now, I'm trying to decide what to do while we're there. I want to have something planned so it's not just, "Ok, we're going to NYC to walk around." I had really, really wanted to do a wine class, but there really isn't much listed online for that date, so I started looking at shows. DH isn't exactly a musical-loving kind of guy, but I found this one: http://ppc.broadway.com/shows/book-mormon/ which looks like it could be funny. I really want to make sure he has a good time since it's his birthday, but it's kind of hard to plan this kind of stuff without his input!
Re: Booked NYC trip!
Yeah, I did actually just check for tickets and they're all sold out for that weekend. I'm going to keep looking for shows DH might like.
I looked in ICE and they don't offer any wine classes the weekend we're going to be there. They do offer a bunch of cooking classes on that Saturday, but that's not soemthing DH would be into at all.
I know, right? I'm going to keep scouring the internet for things we can do on that Saturday night. If I'm not able to find something, I'm sure we'll figure something out once we're there, but I'd just rather know ahead of time that we have something really fun to do.
There is always fun stuff to do. Even if you just do musums. The Met is one of my favorite musums as well as MoMA. Go up the empire state building, just for fun.
Or if the weather is nice, go to ellis island and see the statue of liberty. one thing I never did living near NYC and wish I would have done.
If you want to see a show and don't care as much what you see, you could always stand in line at the TKTS booth for discounted tickets.
