Anyone had recent success getting them to lower the rate? I used to get them down all the time, but our bill has been going up and they say there are "no discounts available". They want give me 3 months free premium channels that I don't want. Our bill is about $40 a month more than when we signed up.

What exactly did you say? Just ask for a discount?
I threatened to switch to Comcast if they didn't lower my rate.

Did you get a good discount? I am probably going to call this week.

I always have my back up "we got disconnected" plan and hang up on them if they say got to comcast. My threat is totally empty. $19 is $228 in a year. And the phone call takes 5 minutes.

My husband recently called and got us a discount. The first person wasn't much help, so he reluctantly transferred him to the retention department. I think we ended up getting $30 or so off per month...for six months...at which time we have to play the game all over again.
Even with the discount, I think it's outrageous how much we pay for TV and Internet. We love it though.
