So last night it was decided that some of us wanted to start sharing our meal plans and recipes more often. What are you having for dinner tonight?
I made homemade tomato tortilla soup and a grilled cheese sandwich, made healthy by using low carb bread (35 calories a slice) just a TINY bit of butter and a laughing cow cheese wedge.
Tomato tortilla soup: http://www.rachaelraymag.com/Recipes/rachael-ray-magazine-recipe-search/soup-recipes/tomato-tortilla-soup (It's delicious! It tastes creamy but it's really just the tortillas! I calculated out the nutrition facts and it's coming in at about 275 calories a bowl!)

Re: WFD?
DH and I went out for a big lunch so we are just having Grilled Cheese if anything at all.
I am baking cookies tonight though so I will share that recipe

Not gonna lie they are pretty fantastic.
I have no recipes.
I had lean cuisine ravioli and Peyton had frozen french toast sticks and strawberries. Mom FAIL.
Mom win! French Toast sticks sound fantastic right now
Kzoo- That soup sounds good! Thanks for sharing the recipe.
Stebbe - Ummmmmm YUM! Those look awesome!
Higgy- I wouldn't consider that a mom fail at all!!
We had stirfry, chicken, green pepper, red pepper, baby corn, mushroom & onions and white rice.
For dessert I made apple "pies" with lowfat tortillas and apple pie filling, a little spray butter and cinnamon sugar on top before baking them. We'll eat them with a scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt!
Oh my goodness that sounds wonderful! I wish DH liked apple pie.
That does sound incredibly delicious!
They are very good! Although this time I used different tortillas and they were too thick. It's a really yummy low point snack. Makes me feel like I'm "cheating".
We had homemade pizza and bread sticks- the bread sticks are very similar to Olive Garden, but I'll warn you- they are salty so cut the salt down!

Are we going to do a weekly menu post and then share recipes with that? I think more of you ladies need to do a menu! (from a poll we did a while back) Ha... you'll be amazed how much $ you can save!! I'm feeding a family of 4 for $85 this week!

Yeah I would love that! I usually plan my meals on Monday afternoons (after the kroger add comes out) and combine that with my coupons that I cut on Sunday. So if we could do menus on Monday's that would be great!
