A ? for you kindle fire owners...
I'm thinking of getting one for when the baby arrives, so that I can read or catch up on tv shows etc. during those long long nighttime hours that you're stuck feeding a baby and need some lowkey entertainment. Later, it seemed like the perfect thing to have to keep yourself occupied while pumping. Is there anything you don't like about them? I read that the ipad might be dropping in price this spring, but who knows when that might happen - and I think that might just be too much tablet for me. I want to read easily, catch up on the occasional show, check facebook... that sort of thing....
Re: A ? for you kindle fire owners...
I want to know how to turn off autocorrect, but I am sure that a quick google would help with that, I have just been too lazy.
I don't read on it so far, but I watch lots of TV shows on network websites and streaming video with my amazon prime membership, and I FB and Nest on it like my life depended on it.
We are anti iAnything at our house, so I can't speak to the iPad thing - but I can tell you that it went from being something I had no desire for AT ALL to something I am not sure how I ever went without in about a day.

That's exactly why I got the fire and I use it everyday while pumping. The only thing I don't like is the lack of 3G, but then again, I don't want to have to pay for a data plan for yet another device. At my house or work no 3G is no big deal. Elsewhere, it just depends on whether they have wireless.

I wanted a case so it would stand up when I was watching TV on it.
I got this one and it works great and MAY have already protected my little electronic buddy from a red wine spilling incident.
.
I get cases for things because I am kind of a clutz. It doesn't feel super breakable or anything.

I keep mine in a case.
But, I also keep my original kindle in a case, my phone in a case, and the iPad I have at work in a case.

I like mine okay but I feel like it's really slow. I got an app that makes it safe for DD to use and I really enjoy the time when she's playing with it and I can take a deep breath. The app blocks her from accessing any apps I don't want her to get to, basically, and gives her her own "home" page. I have the eco case on it and I feel like it's important to have although i never close it so the screen is always exposed. I don't really worry about DD breaking it either and let her walk around with it. It seems like a pretty hardy little machine. : )
Anybody else having the slowing issue? I only have 1 book and 5-6 apps on it so far but the internet seems really slow : ( Also, I can't seem to type in the text boxes on the Nest message boards! What setting do I need to adjust?
