    Yup, name is easy. Smile

And the ultrasound tech printed a picture with an arrow that said it, so DH opened it for his dad and they "read" it together.  There were a lot of tears.  FIL said "good job" to DH and squeezed his hand.  MIL lost it.

Sounds like a perfect moment for your family Cassidy, how very special! That moment will be so special for DH for the rest of his life. Congratulations on your little boy!

  • Yay! Congratulations! Sounds like you all had a beautiful moment with your FIL.
  • Such an awesomely cool thing to have to treasure forever. I'm sure your son will appreciate the story someday too.

See, now... you didn't miss out on anything by sacrificing your Team Green dreams. That moment lives up to any "It's a..." announcement in a delivery room. Gave me chills.

AND as soon as you said that the ultrasound tech drew an arrow pointing, I knew it was a boy. I know there is something to see when it's a girl, too (the "three lines" or whatever), but the arrow pointing, in my mind, was a tell-tale sign that it was pointing to a peen. :)

    CONGRATULATIONS!

  • What an awesome story.  I'm glad your FIL got to at least know he has a grandson on the way.
  • Boys are awesome! (see siggy)

  • Yay, congrats! The story gave me chills, I agree that Ryan won't regret one bit of finding out what team you are on. A beautiful memory with his parents, for sure.

  • I was right too. Your story is so special. It brought tears to my eyes. Congrats!!!

My thoughts exactly- I don't think either of you will ever regret it. Think of all the happiness you brought to him and MIL in his final days. Darn it- you made me cry.

I'm so happy for you! Boys are just amazing, so much fun! I hope you two are able to enjoy the news amidst your sadness!

  • Congratulations!  I agree that this is a wonderful gift to be able to give your FIL, MIL & DH.  Beyond that, what a great way to establish a link to your son's grandfather through this story.  Chills..

  • Ah, totally brought tears to my eyes.  That's definitely better than finding out in the delivery room... to share that special moment with his father is something I am sure he'll treasure forever.
  • I'm all teary eyed. What an amazing gift to give your FIL and memory that all 4 of you will remember forever!
  • What an amazing gift Cass :)  And such a great link for your son to have with your FIL.  Such a great story to be able to share....
  • I'm so glad DH and FIL had this moment to share together.  It won't make up for FIL not meeting the baby, but he and DH have to know they shared something special.

    Congrats!!!!!
