s/o 6 degrees of separation: Poll!

Describe your weirdest discovery of six degrees of separation (or less).

DH's best friend (and his best man at our wedding) was his childhood best friend...they grew up together, went to the same schools, ect.

Pixy (who was my MOH) and is my BFF for 10ish years is a cousin of DH's best friend.  We found out at Pixy's wedding when DH's best friend and his parents were at Pixy's wedding.

We didn't grow up in the same town (DH -Golden, me -fo co).

Weird.

Re: s/o 6 degrees of separation: Poll!

  • My cousin married a woman from the same town my DH's dad is from.  So, my cousin in law knows all of DH's cousins and her brother married one.

  • DH is definitely the most odd six-degrees for me.

We went to the same undergrad college in Ohio, but never met -- we have narrowed it down to a specific party where he was tending bar and I was sitting at the bar, but didn't actually get introduced. I later found pics of us at that party, standing like two feet apart, facing opposite directions, surrounded by mutual friends.

He knew my younger sister, who also went to that college.

When we did meet -- five years after that party -- we were both in the Bay Area for grad school. We were introduced through a mutual college friend who called around to get some of her friends together so that I'd know some people when I moved out there (I was staying with her for a visit to look for housing). We hit it off immediately.

It's just so funny that we didn't meet until we did. And it's good -- we probably wouldn't have dated, or made it, if we'd met earlier!

  • The weiredst for me is DH.

We met while I was working at the college he was going to. He went to high school with my then boyfriend. Through the next year or so we figured out one of his good friends dated someone I grew up with. The really weird part is I reconnected with this person after about 8 years of no contact to find out we had given our DD's the same very uncommon name.

Then about 3 years after we met, he met my family and he and my sister recognised eachother and realised they used to hang out with some of the same people in high school and had gone to the same parties. Eventhough they didn't go to the same school.

We have a pretty good age gape and we lived about 10 miles from eachother.

At my bridal shower I found out his great aunt used to do business with my grandmother in the 70's and early 80's.
