i am assuming that this is too much of a trek from MD but arlington arts center has a photo class that focuses specifically on DSLRs:

i took a really good class there last winter and signed up for this since i just got a DSLR and i know i'll be much better about shooting if i have assignments.

Ooh, thanks for sharing this, Cheeky!
I crossed my fingers that they were weekend classes and I totally would have done it - I think Thursday nights getting to Arlington by 7pm could be pretty rough. I'll definitely keep my eye out there and see if they offer any other workshops that might fit into my schedule a little better.
Thanks again!
anytime! i figured it would be a longshot for you. i work in foggy bottom, so it's not a big deal for me but i know it is a trek from MD.
the art league in alexandria has some weekend workshops:

and hey, i'm all for a photo excursion/happy hour sometime!
Oh, I'm totally in for that!!
I'll buy you drinks and you can teach me what you've learned

Sadly, there is a drunk setting on mine - which is why it is at Nikon getting fixed right now.
But we'll make sure to discuss the important tricks before the third round arrives.

excellent plan!

ooh it worked! did you do that from your Mac?
tell me how!
i'll checkout the online class - but i really would like to go to an actual class with real people and an actual teacher/professor. i spend enough time alone in my basement - i need some real life interaction!
lol
I did what cep said to do in my "mac help" post. Although, I just downloaded firefox because it took entirely too long to do.
