ever bid on a hotel ?
i'm trying to book for SA and it says four stars avg 229 per night. what's should i bid?
i've done before for ATX and NOLA but they've never been avg'ed at 229

San Antonio can be tough because of all the conventions. You could check betterbidding.com to see what other people are getting. HTH!
When are you planning on going to SA? Just a warning, there are a few cheer competitions coming up in the next 2 months there. I have never bid on a hotel before.

feb 10th-12th ? do you now if there is a cheer comp then? i'm hoping to stay at the emily morgan or something on the riverwalk.
I just checked on Hotwire, and a 4-star on the Riverwalk South is $136. I imagine you can get it for that amount or less on Priceline. Give it a try. If it doesn't work, go grab the $136 on Hotwire.
