where to buy fresh wheatgrass locally?

I'm looking for fresh wheatgrass to use as decoration on an hors d'oeurves table. I need a fair amount, not just one little square. Does Whole Foods still sell it? Anywhere else you would recommend I look? (i'll go anywhere in the denver metro area/boulder)

TIA!

Re: where to buy fresh wheatgrass locally?

  • Do you need it today or just soon?

I grew wheat-grass for table settings for my wedding and it only takes 7-10 days to get super cute decorations.  Like these:

Otherwise, I'd try a floral shop who might have done these in the past or maybe this place (found on google - Rocky Mtn Wheat Grass Company (303) 321-5370.

  • The event is two weeks from today actually so I could do it! Any recommendations on a good kit? amazon? The galvanized container in your first pic is EXACTLY what i'm looking for...michaels?

  • I just bought wheatgrass online - don't remember where. Then I found containers around (I went with sq terra cotta ones) and grew the wheat grass in those.  It seriously didn't take anytime at all and I grew them indoors.

  • i grow wheatgrass all the time for my 2 cats who love to eat it.  I bought it from wheatgrass online, i bought seeds 4 years and still am using the same bag.  you can grow the grass right in whatever you need it to be in, so buy the vessels now and then grow.
