MIL is at it again

Not with the drinking...but just with the general interfering on our lives from 600 miles away.

Ryan has a job opportunity that we are going to go see about this weekend (interview on Saturday) this has the potential to be his dream job...but if it's not, it's no big deal.

MIL is trying to tell us that it's stupid for him to go, and that he'll be fired by his current job (you know, the one where he's irreplaceable, and if he was fired they would lose all business). She then proceeds to say, "Well, they aren't paying for it (the company) so I'll pay for you to just come home for the weekend."

She called at 7:15 in the morning to discuss this.I hear Ryan saying

"I understand that....but.....the opportunity....but...really...."

The real reason she doesn't want us to potentially move is because we would be farther away, therefore she wouldn't see KR as much (not that she see's him that much to begin with, because she lives 600 miles away).

It pisses me off because this job could be potentially his dream job (investment banking). Yes, he has a decent job now. But the company he works for isn't that great, and his "boss" doesn't do crap. He's supremely unhappy. Just because he's paid well doesn't mean that he shouldn't look for better opportunity. All MIL is doing is shitting on his parade. Just because you never took a risk, your daughter never took a risk, doesn't mean that your son has to do the same thing. ARGH.

Oh and also, now that MIL is on facebook, she calls every night and tells us we must put pictures of KR up there. EVERY. NIGHT.

If this woman wasn't so sweet, I'd go ballistic on her.

Re: MIL is at it again

  • She is a piece of work.  hope he doesn't fall for her BS. He has every right to take a risk and find a job that makes him happy. The only opinion he has to worry about is your b/c it affects your life directly.

  • Sorry about your MIL.  Maybe some more miles inbetween will be a good thing!  Good luck this weekend!
