Okay, this is an e-mail my sister received from my oldest niece's preschool teacher ...you all know and appreciate my dirty sense of humor, so this was just hilarious...plus, don't 5-year-old little boys know what "balls" are...so wouldn't this be really funny to them???
Hi There,
Wanted to let you know that Elle has had a great morning. This morning I had the perfect opportunity to incorporate the ?Ball Study? from our new curriculum into our day so I did it and Elle LOVED it. We made a ?Web Investigation? where I wrote the word BALLS on the white board and everyone had to come up with different things they wanted to know about balls? Here are a few things they came up with: Can they bounce? Do all balls roll? Do they fly? Can you catch them? Can you throw them? What kinds of balls are there? They really took off with this so I?m sure it?s something that we will try to keep going with each day. Elle was so interested in the different balls I brought into the room today especially the baseball, one in which we cut open. She also was very interested in the difference between a softball and a baseball.
After sitting down and talking about all the different balls they each got to try out each one, we had whiffle balls, bouncy balls, soccer balls, tennis balls, and beach balls.
I plan to still stick with our January Calendar and do lots of the Science Snow and Ice things we have been doing, but with having the perfect opportunity to do this today as well we will be doing a little of both!
I did tell all of the kids today that with doing the Ball Study if they have a ball at home they want to bring that is totally fine.
Hope you have a great afternoon!
Sara

Oh wow, this is seriously too funny!! I just laughed out loud at my desk and now my co-workers think I'm crazy. Oh well, it was totally worth it.

I shared this story on my Bump board...and someone shared this gem...the Mickey Mouse episode where they are looking for the "triangle-shaped bush"...

I can't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's so funny!! Yup, if this didn't come from you, I would swear it was a joke "email forward". I can't believe this teacher could do this lesson with a straight face. That was a good one

I think my favorite is that she is so proud that she wrote BALLS really big on the white board.
I agree it sounds like a horrifying joke!
