Weekend plans?

I know this is usually a Friday question, but since this is a long weekend, I thought I'd start early. I'm trying to come with ideas of something fun to do on Monday. Please inspire me!

Re: Weekend plans?

  • We were having this convo in our house yesterday.  Not all that inspirational, but we were talking about hitting museums this weekend - if anyone has any strong recommendations about the best museum with an almost-5, almost-3 and 1 year old.
Wife, Musician, Fed, WW-er, and Mom of three little kids - not necessarily in that order.
  • Lunch date tomorrow afternoon with DH. I also hope to go through some stuff with our finances, discuss getting a financial adviser and getting started on the taxes (but not on the lunch date).

My brother is coming over for dinner on Friday evening.

Saturday and Sunday are both open. The weather isn't looking so great so I'm not sure what we'll do.

Monday morning - Brunch at a friend's house.

  • Tomorrow afternoon I am leaving for a women's retreat/girls' weekend in Williamsburg. Can. Not. Wait. I'm coming back on Sunday afternoon. Monday I have a work thing to do for 1.5 hours in the morning and then I think DH and I will hit up the Museum of American History if he doesn't have to work (yesterday he still wasn't sure, his work schedule is a PITA when it comes to holidays).

  • We're heading to DE for the weekend, so that probably doesn't help with inspiring others' plans... We'll probably get together with my friends for lunch one day and head into Rehoboth to walk around if it isn't too cold, but other than that, we have nothing planned.

We're looking for the same recommendation for two 16-month olds. We did Port Discovery in Baltimore a few weeks ago and had a blast. I highly recommend it, if you haven't been there yet.

That's the only idea I've had so far. We took M to the Natural History Museum a few weeks ago and he loved it. It's a great place for little kids.

We also went to the Newseum on the same day, because I had a groupon to use, but I don't recommend taking young kids there. The exhibits involve a lot of reading and less "seeing" if you know what I mean.

The Udvar-Hazy museum out near Dulles would also probably be interesting for kids.

  • DD and her BFF are coming for the weekend. I can't wait! I think I might take them ice skating in Reston on Saturday but other than that I'm not sure.

  • Friday - lunch with a Nestie, hopefully date night with Otto; Saturday - drinks with a Nestie, birthday GTG with SILs; Sunday - housewarming with kickball friends, maybe out to band jam with Otto; Monday - maybe driving up past Baltimore to visit with two BFs

    TTC since Mar. 2010; 6 IUIs 2011 = 2 CPs; BFP (conceived naturally) 12/9/11; m/c 1/7/11
  • I bought Groupons for the Spy Museum, so I think we'll go there either Saturday or Monday. Other than that, just the usual church, grocery shopping, and errands. I want to either make a casserole or something in the slow cooker Monday so that we'll have some leftovers for the week.

The first museum that comes to mind for kids is the Building Museum. I've seen lots of kids there with school trips and they seem to have a blast. I'm not sure if it'd be good for kids so young though.

  • it's my friday and i'm itching to start the weekend!!

tomorrow: making red velvet rice krispy treats, picking up my friend for our craftpocalypse weekend, then my bff is coming in from VA for girls' night - zaytinya, bridesmaids, and cava cocktails!

saturday: crafting and downton abbey (aka craftpocalypse)

sunday: more crafting then my friend has a 5:30 train *sniff* but i'll have the tv all to myself for a night ;)

monday: gym, errands, laundry, and hanging out with DH to catch up on our respective weekends.

DD's preschool does field trips, and yesterday they hit the American History Museum. It sounds like in the basement there is a section with cars and airplanes? I am embarrassed to admit I haven't seen it myself. Next week they are doing the Natural History museum to look at the dinosaurs and butterflies.

  • After the past 10 days I have had of work, I am ready for a long weekend!

I will definitely be hitting up happy hour tomorrow night on my way home from work. Saturday night we are having dinner with friends in Georgetown for Restaurant Week. Other than that no plans. I would like to go furniture shopping at some point since we want to get a new dresser and nightstand.

  • Friday: I must, must, must leave work on time.  I've stayed late every day this week and I need to get home at a decent time.  After that, dinner out then relaxing at home.

Saturday: We're headed to the Tysons area for the day, we want to take advantage of some restaurant week deals (La Sandia and Chef Geoffs).  Will poke around the malls, and maybe dogfish, in between reservations.

Sunday:  We're going to help a local distillery bottle some alcohol in the morning, then they treat us to lunch.  Probably out for beers after that.  Home to relax.

Monday: We're both off -- yay!  This is the day for catching up on housework, grocery shopping, schoolwork, etc.

Tonight: The usual, dinner with DH, then catching up on the DVR when he goes back to work.

Tomorrow: Tour our local cheesemaker and check out their vault sale, eye doctor, shopping for new bedding, make DH take down the outside lights so I can pack up the last of the Christmas stuff, getting the Christmas boxes back into the storage closet

Sunday: Church, menu planning, grocery shopping, whatever chores we don't get done on Saturday

  • Tonight: "dance party" with some friends - actually the girls are doing a dance party while the guys are dong video game party.

Saturday: I'm going to work a bit and then DH promised to take me out for dinner and a movie

    Sunday: FOOTBALL and laudry

Monday:  Unfortunately I'm working, no holiday for me.
