I'm trying to plan Emmett's first birthday party and I need help. I'd like it to be somewhere in the middle ground of throwing some balloons up and Hezz's birthday extravaganzas. I'm going with a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme because the kid loves that stupid mouse more than he loves us.
I'm looking for some creative touches. The party's not going to be huge, but I'd love for it to look nice and have some things that people would say "Wow, that's a great idea". So give me your ideas so I can take them and pass them off as my own to everyone else.
I'm making the cake look like Mikey's clubhouse (duh). and I'm going to do Club sandwiches and mini hot dogs for the kids and have cheesy signs in front of the food items.

Re: Creative Types
You should totally label the utensils "mouskatools"
Could you get all the kids mickey hats (maybe they are cheap to buy in bulk somewhere) to take as favors?
My friend did a cowboy theme and had these cheap cowboy hats and Dagger loved it.
of the few things i have actually pinned on pinterest, there is this. i want to make these for my mickey mouse clubhouse fanatic.
i'm trying to think of some way to incorporate Toodles/mouseketools into a birthday party...will there be lots of kids there? a scavenger hunt? or mystery to solve?
I am one to throw some balloons up and call it a day, so I can't really help.
But, you need to somehow incorporate "Oh Toooootales!" or whatever the hell that is. I never pay attention to this show, but that always gets stuck in my head.
Love these suggestions, especially the Mouseketools one, Buddha!
And I can look online for some hats. I'm sure creating some felt ones would be out of my comfort zone. There will probably be about 8 other kids here, under the age of 5.

My sister is pinterest planning a minnie mouse party for my niece. I just raided her board. I think most of these things would work without bows to be Mickey themed.

get some swedish fish for the treat bags and refer to them as 'gooeyfish'
not do it yourself... but cheap...oriental trading company online has mickey mouse favor bags (filled) and napkins. That way this would already be covered and you could focus on do it yourself decor
These are also kinda cute... and look easy to do... the cookies might be more difficult but the centerpieces would be simple

I used cookie cutters to cut fruit for a preschool party. We did pineapples, watermelon, and cantaloupe -- it was a big hit.
You could do something like that, or plain ole cookies, with this:
