RL Stein and Christopher Pike books
Anyone have fond memories of these? I joined a huge stack of them the other day when cleaning out my basement. This is why I hoard! I'm seriously considering retreading them and either making someone else read them with me, or blogging about them. S many memories!

I also loved that one. And the Witch one creeped me out. I also liked the Final Friends series where they were on the boat to some remote island for prom night.

I actually have a few Christopher Pike books on my shelf right now. I found them in an old box and couldn't get rid of them. The Vampire Diaries series. I've re-read them twice.

The first and only Pike book I read was Whisper of Death. I think I was in maybe 4th grade? Waaaay too young. Freaked me out.
I loved the RL Stine Fear Street books, though. My favorite were the "Saga" series, they were basically watered down horror historical fiction.

Yeah, I loved those, too. So much. Did a book report on the one that followed the female family line when I was in 5th grade.
I loved the Midnight Club - I used to read it all the time and convince myself I had some super past life soulmate like the girl in the book. Hah.

RL Stine is on Twitter and he's pretty hilarious/interesting.

Didn't care for RL Stine, but loved Christopher Pike, and still have a lot of them on my bookshelf. To this day, no matter what adult novels I've read, I still think the Remember Me series is one of the most brilliant plots ever. I think I heard that they were going to make a movie of it? Or maybe I'm just hoping.
I found 2 of the Vampire Diaries books, but don't know what happened to my others. It's funny how they're so different from the series.
Did anybody ever read the adult novel by Christopher Pike, The Blind Mirror? It's pretty good, too, and I think he kind of drew on the plot from Remember Me as far as the whole "not being in your own body" thing.
Those books were so awesome! Although, the "Goosebumps" series by RL Stein weren't as good as the others.
I would so love to read these again.

They did a "Sweet Valley Confidential" book a few months ago, which was supposed to be the people all growz'd up.

This random, but did anyone ever read a collection of short stores, I think it was by Pike? Anyway, one of the short stories is about a girl being stalked by evil deer, and they're all just standing around looking at her with creepy deer eyes? Because that one stuck with me for awhile and I'd love to know what it was called.
IIRC, there was another short story in the collection that was from the perspective of a tree, and the conceit was that the trees actually switch sizes (?!) when people get closer them them, and then shrink back when they're far away? And cars make them exhausted because they have to change so fast? I feel like I was high and imagined that story, but it comes back to me at weird times.
Please someone know what I'm talking about.

OMG it was real! At least the deer one was. Scroll down to Where the Deer Are. The recap leaves out that the main character suspects that the deer are actually vanished children taken back by "the Nature".

I had this book! I don't remember the tree one from this collection, though I do remember something that's oddly similar by Ursula LeGuin in Buffalo Gals and Other Animal Presences.
