Project Runway 1/12

Thoughts?

I'm so proud of Michael C. His dress was AMAZING! Remember when he was a disaster who couldn't do anything without help. He definitely seems to win most improved!

I loved Austin's dress too. I would have been happy with either Austin or Michael winning. Loved the sheer tulle overlay on Austin's, and the bold choice of gold fabric. Really, really lovely.

I honestly didn't care much for Anthony's dress. The white drapery with the leather gloves and the random little green bauble at the belly button. Meh.

I don't think I liked any of the rest of the dresses. There were three or four that looked like maternity to me. Glad that Sweet Pea's was cut. I really didn't like it at all. I didn't like the other floral one either. I didn't really see any design there at all. I think you could buy a pattern for that dress from any Butterwick catalog. Just way too basic. Sweet. But not an All Stars couture design.

  • I agree with basically everything you said.

I personally hated Kara's dress (the other floral). The fabric was just awful.

I did not like April's dress, but I am glad she was in. I like her.

  • I really liked Mondo's. I wonder how close he came, score-wise, to either the top or the bottom. I wish we knew more about how the designs are scored.
  • I really loved Michaels dress and actually surprised he didn?t win. I really didn?t care for Austin?s. To me, it seems like something I?ve seen. But I did like his idea and choice of colors. I don?t care for April but glad she stayed. I didn?t like the floral looking dress either.

I also agree with what PP said about Anthony?s dress, It was just okay. Nothing special about it.

I thought Michael's dress was "too much". It was blingy, feathery. The dress itself, was gorgeous, but it was overly-blingy, IMO.

I liked Austin's dress, I just didn't like the colors. It was beautifully cut and designed tho.

  • So happy that Sweet P was cut.  I didn't like what she did last week or this week.

I liked Michael's dress the most.

  • I loved Michael's dress. I really wished that had won. I liked Austin Scarlett's as well but I wish the tulle stopped at the waist and didn't go all the way down.

I didn't hate April's dress, although I agree with hating black and red together.

I absolutely hated Jerrell's brown ugly dress. That looked like a bad slip cover. Whoa.

I think they made a good choice about Sweet P's. They hit the nail on the coffin when they said the top looked like a bathing suit top. It also made the girls boobs like teeny.

  • I really liked Anthony's dress. At first glance, it didn't look that interesting. But when you look closer - the draping is really strategic and the effect is stunning.

Michael's was over the top - but still very interesting. Austin's I actually didn't care for but it was made impeccably.

I also liked Mondo's. A lot. It felt so Betty from Mad Men going to the opera. I thought Gordana's was very interesting - I didn't love the bottom, but the whole thing was very different. And I actually also was intrigued by Kenley's.

I am ready for Mila to go - only cause I don't really care for her attitude.

Also - I'm really liking the All Stars - it's refreshing I guess to see so many talented people after the last two lackluster seasons.

  • Michael's was not an opera dress.  And I thought the back strap was trashy looking.  That being said, it was a pretty dress.  And I am very impressed with his improvement from his season.  Although the whiney/bitchy routine is grating on me.

I liked Anthony's a lot.  But I hated how he had styled it.

Austin's was probably the one that fit the criteria of the challenge best of all.

I adored Mondo's.  Loved it.  But I have such a huge crush on him and everything he does that I am way biased.

My favorite though?  Hands down?  Kenley.  I loved it.  Yeah, it looked like a Barbie birthday cake, but I loved it.  I would totally wear it.

  • I agree with a lot of what has been said!

Michael's dress was a little trashy. I totally agreed when Austin said that it was too celebrity and not opera. I loved that Austin's dress was so beautiful without being all low cut.

Anthony's dress was just too much boobs and leather for me. Hated it.

I couldn't believe that Mondo was not in the top. That dress was amazing. You hear me? AMAZING.

Kenley's was also pretty neat. I thought it looked a little bit prom dress, but the gigantic size of the gown really said couture to me.  I would have been happy to see her recognized for that dress.

    Jarell's brown thing? Horrible.

I thought Gordana's dress was very pretty and tasteful.

Rami's fuchsia dress looked so pretty in his sketch that I gasped when I saw the product. Not even close.

I thought the top of April's dress was a total mess! So glad Sweet P was out of there, I have never liked her. It looked like a maternity maxi dress.

  • I liked Austin's the most. I thought it was very elegant. Michael's was ok....I thought the dress itself is something that we've mostly seen before, and the collar part was the only thing that really made it special. But for all that, it was good.

I wasn't a fan of Mondo's, which is disappointing since I love him.

I couldn't believe the amount of maternity wear. Jerell's, Sweet P's, and Kara's were all disgusting. I don't know why those ladies chose those prints. Talk about making a sun dress and trying to pass it off as an opera gown!

I have never liked or understood April. Dunking the bottom of a dress in black dye will not improve it, especially if it's a formal occasion dress. Maybe if you were making something for a tye-dye birthday party! Her sewing job looked like a novice sewer put that together. If Sweet P and Kara didn't drop the ball so badly April would've been out.
