my baby majorly scared me yesterday, too! AND today! normally baby is up and about as soon as i get to work, but both yesterday and today baby slept in quite a bit (until at least 9 am...which is scary!

what did you do while you were panicking? i was told that if things feel different, then have some water or juice, then count kicks, if there's less than 10 in 2 hours, then that's when you call the dr.....baby gave me a few minor kicks here and there and i just wasn't sure whether to count those are not.

both yesterday and today, when i started to REALLY panic and was ready to call the dr during a break during my meeting was when baby woke up. he needs to stop sleeping in!

Re: **soralette**

  • That can be scary! Sorry BabyLin is a snoozer. :)

That being said, their sleep cycles change a bit as they get bigger. Also, it could be that they're running out of room.

...And another thing. HE? Do you know something we don't? Did you peek? Or are you just using he for fun? :)

  • i'm banking it on being a sleep cycle change-- baby is usually active at work, and sleeping at home. the last few days "he" has been sleeping at work, and moving at home--which is nice because h gets to see and feel the movements, but i'm panicking all day at work!!

today baby is moving around this morning so i'm happy! i've missed "him"

i just say "he/him" because i'm still pretty convinced baby is a boy. we don't have a clue, and have had no temptation to peek! we're almost there!

  • I am so sorry I didn't reply to this sooner! I've been running around like crazy trying to prep for the bridal shower I'm hosting on Sunday... and when not running around, I've been asleep, haha. O_x

*Hugs* I hope BabyLin is being more active today; I know our LO is after the NST. I think he/she resented the doppler!

As for what I did while panicking, the usual, I guess? Drank some ice-cold water (b/c cold water always woke him/her up before), drank some juice (mango smoothie), ate some ice cream, laid down on my left side with my hand on my belly (because I've noticed there're a lot of places that LO can move now where I actually feel them better from the outside than I do from the inside!), even pulled out the doppler we got back in 1st trimester and looked for the HB.

I was counting the minor kicks, sort of, but only if they happened when I was being really still; if I'd just been moving around or something, I didn't count them.

LO's heartbeat on the NST was "perfect" and the ultimate verdict was "baby has less room, so you're getting less movement", but the OB was still glad I called and went in. And, tbh, LO's been a LOT more active since I went in for the NST, just about back to pre-worry levels. So... I'm glad I went, too. Definitely not a waste of time!

If your LO is still worrying you, esp since it's been a couple of days, give them a call! *Hugs* Even if everything's fine, it's still SUCH a relief to KNOW it's fine, you know?

If your LO is still being normally active in the evenings, but not during the day, and you're not AS panicky, definitely still bring it up at your next appt. You're just about on weekly ones, too, now, right??

  • thanks for writing back!! baby is moving a lot better now, back to "normal" almost...i would say we are at about 90% of before i started worrying. i think it's because baby just has less room..but i don't know what the scares were about. my next appt is 1/23, and from then on our i'll be at weekly appointments. i feel good about baby movements right now, so i'm good.

i'm glad your baby passed the test with flying colors!!

  • Yay, back to mostly-normal! Maybe your LO was going through a growth spurt? I've heard those can make LOs more tired/sleepy than usual. <3

I'm glad you're feeling better about 'em! *hugs* Sorry it was worrisome, though. :(

It's scary not knowing what's going on in there, though, isn't it? If there were a safe way to do it, I'd almost want to stick the baby monitor in there so I can watch and KNOW that the LO's okay, you know?
