First of all, TGIF. I'm really looking forward to a 3 day weekend.
My vent: my boss is ALWAYS late. She has had an 8am patient scheduled this whole week and has not rolled in before 9am any day. I get in at 8:30 after dropping V off to school & I have to deal with the fallout. Today she called at 8:30 and asked me to ask her 8am patient to meet her at 9am. Uh, he's MY 9am patient. So now she has thrown off MY day.
I realize she stays later than I do, as I have to leave at 4 to pick V up, but if you KNOW you can't roll in before 9, why are you scheduling people at 8, FFS?
My other vent is that both DH and I are sick again, less than a month after being sick right before Xmas.
Re: Friday morning vents
It's amazing how people are so concerned with your boobs when you have a baby. Whether they don't want you to feed your baby in public or frown upon your choices for feeding. Amazing.
I would tell them that yes, she is being fed breastmilk. They don't need to know how it gets from you to her.
my read shelf:
I'm just sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Are you united with the CCOKCs?
I was amazed at the people who I barely knew that thought this topic was ok for them to addresss.
I actually took pleasure in telling them "No," and giving them my best "go ahead and say something, I dare you," glare.
All that matters is that you are offering the nutrition that your child needs, and that you child is taking it. If you are dispensing that nutrition out of a freaking beverage hat with the two straws coming out of it that you have on your head, it doesn't matter as long as it is getting into your child.
Incidently - I think if you are giving breast milk, then your short answer to that question can just be "yes."

My (really petty) vent:
Todd has this cough. It comes and goes and usually he says it is his allergies, but he is always acting like it has been AGES since it happened and it has just suddenly cropped back up.
Nuh uh.
I feel like it is constant. And I admit, when I talk to my GFs about it, I call it his "drama cough," because I feel like he makes it worse than it needs to be - until he practially gags himself.
The (petty) point is, it gets old listening to it.
He went to the doc again this week for his intestinal woe, and I told him 'don't forget to ask about your cough," because this time around he is acting like it is somehow connected to the tummy thing.
Did he ask? Nope.
Even if it IS that bad, I remember when I was little my asthma specialist telling me that I needed to calm myself, control my breathing and NOT let my cough just run wild into a coughing fit. This is what I think an adult should do. This is NOT what Todd does. Keri is tired of listening to the horking.

I'm worn out & sick. I think I've got a sinus infection. My doctor's office has walk-in hours tomorrow from 8-10:30. I'm hoping I can make it in, but Miller has a vet appointment at 8:30, and I don't know how long it'll take. Hopefully not very, since it's early enough.
Then I've likely got to work this weekend. Then I'm supposed to watch my niece tomorrow night so my sister can go to her BFF's 30th bday party. (Which I'll feel horrible if I can't, and she can't go, because I'm sick.)
Last night while walking the dog, I slipped on the ice. Luckily, I didn't fall, but I did mess up my back pretty good. We have a guy come in here every few weeks to do massages, and I tried to get one today, but he wouldn't because it's such a fresh injury. So here I sit with ice on my back all day.
I just want to cry. (And already have once today.) And go home to bed. But I can't. CW is out on vacation, so I can't be gone. Plus it's year-end, and I've got a ton of work to do. Hence working this weekend.
Ouch, Sam. Hope that feels better soon.
I am just a grump today. I feel like I've been doing everything around the house and it's still a mess, I'm tired of preparing almost every bite of food that goes into every family member's mouth every day, I'm tired of being tired.
Also, I just got an email that my hair stylist moved just far enough away to be inconvenient. I like her, though, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do.
I EBF and rarely pumped. I think pumping is SO MUCH MORE WORK than nursing and I give you tons of credit for EP'ing. I consider EP'ing breastfeeding since you are feeding LO what comes from your breast. Just say that she's breastfeeding and shut those people up. Kisses!
I just have a lot on my to-do list and it's hard to keep track of it all, much less accomplish even a portion of it. I'm still a little burnt out from going a mile a minute in December so that further complicates things.

I sent a "green light" email to a vendor early in December to get going on a project with a 6-week turnaround. So it should have been close to being done, right?
Wrong. She emails me back saying she had no idea I wanted to go ahead with the order... too bad for her I saved the two emails I sent her indicating we wanted to roll forward.
::waiting on her email back to see how she's able to pacify me::

I am so over dr appts. Since the beginning of Nov, they have been out of control. They stress me out and screw with my daily schedule and it just makes me anxious. E has had multiple appts for his heart, hernia and teeth. I have had all the typical OB appts + and additional u/s. Juggling the kids and making sure they are taken care of if I need to go by myself has been stressful.
E was supposed to have a tooth pulled on the 5th and I took him in and, after a discussion, they told me thye didn't think it was necessary afterall. Would have been nice to have gotten a call before I got all the way over there.
E was also supposed to have a followup appt for his surgery yesterday. I took him to the same place he had his pre-op appt. Well, they scheduled it for another office. I had no idea there was another office so it was a total waste. I cried. I am just so tired of running around for these things. I just want to go to bed. Now, I have another appt to take him to on the 26th. I can't wait till the appts are over.

DH used to clear his throat all the freakin' time and it drove me crazy! One day, we went to the doc for something else (I was with him and I don't remember why) and I asked about the constant need to clear his throat. The doc said that it was most likely acid reflux and gave him a sample of some antacid thingy. I hate drugs (for the most part) and so does DH so I did a little research and learned that a probiotic can help with that. DH started one (the cheapest generic from Target) and it has completely cleared up! A_MAZ_ING!!! I'm not saying that's what your DH has, but it could be and a probiotic couldn't hurt, especially if he's dealing with a stomach thing already!
GL and I totally understand how annoying it can be!!!

Mine are really petty but bugging me:
1) SIL never gets dressed up, does her hair/wears make-up. 3 years ago when we got married I got to the point of begging her to be a BM in our wedding and she said no. She said no because she would have to wear a dress and make-up. DH was really hurt because he is really close with her. Last weekend DH's cousin got married and guess who got all dolled up and even wore a dress. When I said something she says well I have lost a little weight and this is different. I'm really angry about this, another one of DH's cousin started talking to me about it and shared she was pretty upset about it. DH is still hurt over it but of course SIL doesn't really care.
2) We are trying to cut down on extra spending because we want to pay off our debt and hopefully start our basement remodel this year. DH cringes when I spend $25 on a huge bag of clothes for G that normally would have been $85 for next winter. Then last night I found out he changed his gym membership so we are now paying $26 a month instead of $10 and he just paid $60 for 6 weeks of soccer, plus another $50 on new shin gaurds and socks. I'm really annoyed but I know if I say anything it will turn into something stupid and he will take it as me attacking him.
