If you were against organized religion...
would you apply to a job at a Catholic High School with this in the description, seeking individual with communications or marketing degree, commitment to Catholic education...?
Re: If you were against organized religion...
As a non-believer, I wouldn't apply for the job. It goes against what I believe in. It could be the best job ever but if it goes against something I believe in, no thank you. That's just setting yourself up for a lot of grief and biitching
Augh, yeah... I guess I am feeling desperate. I am VERY against organized religion. I think I just needed some justifications. Thanks.
I think you would be misrepresenting yourself, and also setting yourself up for unhappiness. I think Catholic schools have heavy religious curriculum. I think you would end up hating it.
dup
Me? Yes, I would.
But I guess I'm not necessarily against organized religion, so much as I'm against organized religion being pushed onto anyone.
Since it is a religious school and it would be me going to them.. I'd be alright with it.
I don't think I would. My opinions and personal beliefs would likely prevent me from fulfilling that requirement to my best ability.
I agree with this. Honestly, they will probably ask you if you are Catholic if you interview with them, and you don't want to set yourself up to lie/misrepresent yourself.
No, probably not unless I was really desperate.
LOL. I don't think I'd last long at a Catholic high school before they fired my heathen ass anyway!

Absolutely not.
I'm not sure what the job description is, but could you reasonably do tasks that relate directly to Catholic principles? You say they ask for communication or marketing degree, so just as a generic example, what if they asked you to organize a Planned Parenthood protest with pictures of dead babies to hand out to the high school students or something?
Aaaannnnnd Jemmini for the argument win!
No, I absolutely 100% could never do something like that.
I really wouldn't have applied, but damn you make a a strong point.
Not only no, but helll no.
I dont' have the ability to keep my opinion to myself (whether it be verbally or expressions on my face) so if I even managed to get past the interview, I wouldn't be surprised if they fired me a week in.
