I will admit. I don't know how. I'm sure I can figure it out. I mean, I know how to do it, in my brain, but never had to.
One time when I was driving home from college, I got a massive flat. I was literally in the middle of no where in some Texas County Road. I called my dad to come change the tire because I was pretty close to home, maybe 30 minutes? As I was talking to dad, a man came up. I cracked the window and he said he would change it. I stayed on the phone w/dad until he changed it. Looking back, that could have been very dangerous. Seriously, There was no one around and I was about 20 yrs old.
This is me too. I know how to change a tire and have done it before, but I usually struggle with getting the nuts loosened as well.
my read shelf:
I did SS for this same reason. But, I also have AAA and a sense of girly entitlement. I admit it. Ever since that girl called AAA, waited for 4 hours, took help from a stranger and was brutally murdered, AAA's response time is MUCH faster.
Fun trick (if you ever need to), don't jack the car all the way up and use the ground as leverage to get them loosened, then jack it all the way up. That's the only way I have ever been able to get them off.
Not only can I change a tire, yesterday I helped put new tires on my rims and change all that out too! I have AAA and it's come in handy for getting locked out and needing a tow, but my dad made me learn to change a flat before I started driving too, so I probably wouldn't bother calling them for that.
