TGIF!

Well, it snowed last night, so the roads were a mess.  I mean, we got 1 cm (< 1/2") of snow, so it's not like it's the actual snow that's the issue, but apparently people forget how to drive over the summer.  Thankfully, my carpool partner did the drive today, so I didn't have to worry.

Derek left last night around 8:30 to head out to Tim's to meet the guys.  I think their plan was to leave for Quebec around 2 or 4 am.  I've gotten a few text updates when they hit major cities, so I'm expecting they'll arrive at the hill soon.  I was such a sap and cried when he left.  So cute though, as soon as he pulled out of the driveway he pulled over again.  I figured he'd forgotten something, but he was just running back for "one more kiss".  Awwwww.

Tomorrow I think I'm headed up to the closest ski town here for a birthday dinner, then back home.   I think I'm also going to attempt to register and get some painting done this weekend.  Gooooood times!

What does everyone have on the go this weekend?

Re: TGIF!

  • Good morning! The traffic was ridiculous this morning, wasn't it? Like, honestly people, winter happens EVERY YEAR. Stop being surprised when it kicks in.

I'm really having a hard time keeping a wraps on my exhaustion. I don't usually have my alarm wake me up - I always wake up before it - but the last two mornings, I've been dead to the world. I've also been having some mild cramping, which I'm fairly convinced is either the run-of-the-mill cramping or its intestinal. Either way, it's annoying, but not so annoying that I feel it's worth taking time off and going to the doctor.

This weekend, we're making things public about the pregnancy! Eee!

That's exciting, kaesha!  Anything special planned?

I'm looking forward to a quiet night in tonight.  Tomorrow I have acupuncture appointment in the morning, and we're doing dinner and a movie tomorrow night.  Not sure what we'll see, but there seems to be a lot out.

I'm getting my hair cut on Sunday, nothing major but it definitely needs some cleaning up.  Also want to get to the gym both days, but we'll see.

  • Happy Friday! People are still driving a little crazy here, although the roads are still in pretty bad shape, so I guess I'll give em that. The sidewalks, on the other hand, are almost in perfect condition. I really don't understand how the campus crew can have the sidewalks looking so great while the city people can't do the same for the roads. Oh well, I'm at work.

This weekend I don't have a ton of plans. It's supposed to be cold so I really want to stay home and cook comfort foods all weekend long. I do have a TC/wine night planned. Other than that though I really need to catch up on my sleep. I've been really cranky this week and I'm beginning to drive myself crazy. I'm off on Monday but Kyle isn't, so that sounds like the perfect opportunity for me to take a lazy day.

  • This weekend is a 3-day weekend because of MLK Day on Monday but I'm kind of upset because the firm only told us a few days ago that they are going to be closed. H is out of town in Philly and DC until Tuesday and I am upset b/c had I known I wasn't going to work on Monday, I would have either planned to go with him or would have flown home to Michigan to attend the conference my little sister is moderating.  And now, I'll be stuck at home by myself for three days instead :-(  Oh well, I should probably get in a few good days of packing anyway...I can't believe how quickly this move is coming up!

  • Happy Friday! Yesterday I got stuck at work late; when I got home, we just ate a quick dinner and then went to sleep. I think we were both out by 9:45.This morning I was still so sleepy that I forgot to put on my rings and feel bad about it. Blah.

Tonight we'll probably do the same--get home, have dinner, go to sleep. I'm supposed to join a running group downtown tomorrow morning, but I'm so sleep deprived, I might skip it this week and try for next. It's a three-day weekend, so I'm going to try to sleep as much as possible, run as much as I can, and get a few things done (like my book club book and the next book I need to review, which I only have as an e-book; I'll need to read it on my computer or phone, argh).

    Have a great all, everyone!

  • Woo hoo, Friday!  And the boss is out.  And it's a three day weekend for MLK Day.

Today I am having lunch at D.C. Coast for Restaurant Week.

Tomorrow, I'm going to yoga at 9:00 (assuming I can force my lazy butt out of bed) and then I think Jim and I are going to the firing range.  I need to take my new prescription for glasses in to have them made (stupid bifocals - I'm such an old lady).  We have reservations for dinner at a place called Restaurant 3 in Clarendon.  I love Restaurant Week!

Sunday is church, and I'm not sure what else.

I think I'm going to go on Monday and get my second tattoo.  I've finally figured out what I want.  Sometime over the weekend, there will need to be grocery shopping and laundry.

  • Yay for Friday!

Yesterday was a crazy drive home. We were only supposed to get 3" of snow, but ended up with about 6".  My van is so much better in the snow then my previous car was. I picked the boys up from Daycare, and Zach has is first fat lip.  I guess he took a good fall yesterday. Oh well, at least he is still a cutie pie.

Tonight, I am supposed to a girls night out, but I am contemplating on not going. They are going to a local dive bar that I am really not a fan of.  Besides that DH and I have a sitter for tomorrow night since we are going out to dinner with my BFF, the movies, and then possibly to my BFF's twin brothers house to watch the Pats/Bronco's game. (GO PATS!).

Sunday will be the usual cleaning and what not.

    Have a great day/weekend ladies.

  • Morning girls, Happy Friday!

I have a girls night planned tonight with two of Jason's cousins, I'm not sure what we're doing but I'm sure it will fun.

Tomorrow I have a ton of stuff I need to get done around the house in the morning in preparation for the Bronco's playoff game party we're hosting Saturday evening. I can't wait to see a few of our friends I haven't seen in a while and all of their cute little babies!

Sunday we're having my mom's surprise b-day party. I really hope we can pull it off. I'm also REALLY excited to see my youngest sister, I haven't seen her since May and she's lost 80lbs since I saw her last! I'm SO incredibly proud of her!

  • I am so glad it is Friday, I am exhausted. I haven't posted in what feels like forever. Life has been busy, I've started a new job and DH started a new, and final, semester.

This weekend we are going to a conference which should be really good. We weren't looking forward to it at first but I am starting to get excited. We leave this weekend.

On a more exciting topic DH and I decided that we are going to start "Not Not Trying" to conceive. We've been thinking about it for quite sometime and both of us are at a place where we are emotionally ready and keen, so we thought we would take the plunge.

    Have a great weekend!

  • Today is classes and homework and bill paying.

Saturday I am not a darn thing,  We are getting our cable back which is exciting, just in time for the Broncos game.

Sunday is my Grandpa's birthday so we are headed to Denver to see family and hang out with him.

I hope all of you have a fabulous weekend.

  • morning! I plan on spending my day eating saltines and drinking ginger ale and trying my best NOT to puke, haha. I've been feeling pretty nauseous for about a week, but it hit me extra hard this morning for some reason. other than that, I feel pretty good... I slept like a queen last night!

no big plans this weekend - gotta take a trip to Michael's and get some supplies for some bridal shower crafts for my friend's shower (I'm a BM). Sean will be going to the Ravens playoff game on Sunday, so I'm pretty sure I'll have to pick him up when he gets dropped off at their meeting place, haha. he's off on Monday (I'm not), so I'm guaranteeing a heavy drinking day.

I'm registered for spring classes, which start next week, but I'm debating on whether I want to drop them or not. I'd be making a BIG change, as they are day classes, which means I'd be working part time until May. not only am I worried about the stress of work and school, but I also don't think right now is the best time to be taking a pay cut. meh.

    happy weekend! :)

  • Morning ladies. Last night was nice. I went to Target in search of something I didn't find the day before. I hung out at my parents house for a bit since everyone was home, and by the time I got home we had a late dinner.

I woke up this morning at 4:30 when Olivia woke up. It was DH's turn to get up but I couldn't go back to sleep so I just got up and paid some bills and did some reading. I'm surprisingly energized thought it's probably just my morning coffee.

Tonight I'm going to dinner with my mom and then we'll probably go to the mall. Tomorrow morning I need to go grocery shopping while DH attends a fundraiser at his previous job. Then I'm going to my cousins son's birthday party around 1 so I can be home in time for the football game.

Sunday no plans but I'd like to stay home and rest and do laundry. We'll likely go to church in the morning and then to visit the IL's in the late afternoon. Hope everyone has a nice, restful weekend.

    happy weekend! :)

I found eating protein of some sort (peanut butter worked for me) with the saltines really helped.

sushi - really, I have nothing fun planned. I'm not into the big facebook announcements either. I'm sending an email to friends and family (although I'm leaving a lot of family to my parents, just because) and going from there.

  • Good Friday morning!

I think I'll be staying in today. I thought about going out to run some errands, but with traffic the way it is, I think those can wait.

We don't really have any plans for tomorrow, but Sunday we're heading to my parents' place for dinner. My mom told me that duvets are 40% at a store near her, so we may stop by to take a look. I'm excited about the possibility of getting a new one :)

  • I am staying in today soaking up the lazy vibes cause tomorrow I have to drive my happy little butt to Saginaw for some manditory training.

this traing was kinda sprunge on me too they sent out a text yesterday that we needed to sign up for the manditory CPR and first aid training on Saturday. my schedule is all screwed up I am going to work early so I can leave early so I can drive almost an hour to training that is going to last 3+ hrs. so if it starts at 2 wow I will be home by 6 at the earliest.

  • Left my interview last night to him saying that he needed to speak to the other partners and get me an offer letter and see what we can work out..

    WOOHOO! *keeping fingers crossed*

After a long day at work and the interview DH took me out to my favorite tapas place for dinner, so I didn't have to cook dinner.

Tomorrow is a date in the city! We're going to hit up Nordstrom Rack, use a living social deal for wine and cheese then grabbing dinner at a Italian bar and we'll cap the night with West Side Story.

  • I found myself chatting away online last night and missed most of Grey's and Private Practice. oops! I also couldn't fall asleep, and I think it's because my body isn't used to getting a good night's sleep anymore. It probably thought 2 nights ago was a really good nap and I didn't need anymore sleep.

Tonight will be relaxing, tomorrow I'm off to hang out with my crazy aunts for a scrapbooking party they have twice a year. Mostly, I'm just going to give people a chance to see Jackson. Christmas was really hectic, so he slept for a lot of it. We're headed to my BFF's house for football Sat. night and then Sunday will be recouping from the weekend. Monday I'm home with the bub since daycare is also closed for the holiday. It's a floater for us at work.

In better news, I went for my annual appointment this morning, and it looks like all my organs are finally functioning normally again. I can switch to normal BC, as long as I go in for routine blood pressure checks. Apparently I can get hypertensive really easily now, and the estrogen might bring back symptoms. I'm excited to not be so terrified of getting pregnant again. I just wish I didn't have to remember a pill every morning. We'll be talking about an IUD when I go in 4 months for the blood pressure check. Anyone have one? Pros? cons?

  • Hey ladies! TGIF...even with a snow day yesterday it was a hell of a week!

This weekend I am going to a reunion for the middle level education program at my alma mater!  It is the 10 year anniversary of the start of the program (and 10 years since I started the program as I was in the first grouping).  It should be fun...there are a couple of teachers that I teach with who are going plus several professors that I had and hopefully some students I graduated with (we'll see about that, I'm not sure where any of them are now...).  I am doing lunch with my BFF beforehand since I will be in town.

Sunday is normal grocery shop/laundry/etc (unless Ed does the shopping when I am gone tomorrow--fingers crossed on that one!)

  • TGIF is right.  Only having one day off this week for working the past weekend has caught up with me.  I get this coming Thursday off, too.  WTF?

Work has been pretty hectic all week.  The usual.  I ended up really stressed after some info has come to light at work yesterday regarding my 'status'.  HR lady FINALLY got back to me and said she was processing my full time permanent letter which is great.  In the meantime, I had to talk to our scheduling manager about an issue coming up in March and according to the info payroll has given her, I am still a temporary employee despite the fact that I signed a contract last spring that moved me to permanent.  It really is too complicated to get into but essentially, they need to straighten this shiit out ASAP so that it doesn't affect my maternity leave and being topped up by my employer on top of the government EI.

I e-mailed my director explaining what was happening and that I was freaking out and she's telling me not to worry that she will get it worked out.  I really do appreciate that, but it's hard not to worry.

Blah - I need to sleep and run this weekend.
