Lindsey

Hey there.  I'm sorry to hear that Lawson's lungs aren't ready yet :(  I know how much you were looking forward to meeting him!   My fingers are crossed that he'll be ready to go by next week!  You can do it!  I'll be thinking of you and your family!

Re: Lindsey

  • Thanks Molly. I'm doing better today. Meeting with my head OB tomorrow afternoon to discuss the plan. I'm thinking of passing on another amnio and just inducing at 39 weeks, which was the original plan. We will see what OB suggests.

    How was your baby shower?

  • I just saw your blog!  Yay for having set a date!  You  must be so excited :)  I'm excited to see how labor happens for me, but it would be nice to have a countdown!

I am 35 weeks today, so 35 days left until my due date, which feels like a big milestone :)   My shower was great.  It was so nice to spend some time with such fabulous women.  And we got lots of cool things (including our carseat, changing table,  and stroller - whoohoo!).

Now I'm just spending every day paying attention to my body to see if things feel different/are getting started.  I know it's still early, but I can't stop looking for signs.

The nursery is still not done (hopefully this weekend), but here is a picture of me on the day of my shower, in front of the blue wall my H has painted in Lucia's room, next to our new changing table.

  • You look fantastic! Congrats on 35/35 so exciting!!!! My DH asked me today how Lucia was doing? It was really cute.

I am so glad you had a nice shower!

I totally understand the looking for signs... it can make you crazy.

Are you working still? When will you stop? How long will you take off?

  • So sweet of your H to check in on us :)    I am working on laundry right now, and just added the things you sent into the pile!  I'm so excited to start dressing her up!

I am still working.  I am nannying 3 days a week with a 17 month old girl, and a 4 month old girl.  Then the other 2 days I have their cousin, a 10 month old girl.  It's getting nuts - so much harder to sit on the ground, carry them, etc.  On top of that on Friday the one family needed me an extra day, so I had all 3 girls!  Eeep!

I would love to stop, and be home getting things cleaned and ready, but with H in school we can't afford to have me not work.   And since my maternity leave isn't paid, we'll take as little time as I can manage.

The week before I am due, both families (the mom's are sisters) are going out of town on a ski vacation.  So if  I don't go into labor before then, I'll have that week off.  Other than that I am planning on working right up until labor.  After that the goal is to take 2 weeks off from the family with 2 girls, and then to start again with their 2 and Lucia.  That's how much time they can get off work, but they also have both sets of grandparents in the area, so  if I need more they are just going to figure it out.  With the other family they moved here recently, and the dad is still looking for a job, so they said to take as much time as I needed since he can be home.  So ideally I would go back just 3 days a week at first, and then add the other family back in when I feel comfortable.

Well that was a long explanation of my plans :)  I'm a little worried about how I"m going to feel afterwards.  And I hope she stays in until my due date, so that I do get that extra week off (rather than that counting towards my 2 weeks).  But mostly I'm just counting down the days until I can meet her :)

How are you doing with school?

  • I finished my semester in Dec (did the last 6 weeks from home) and finished 4th in my class. Now I will be off until Fall. I am doing a 2 day a week internship starting in May.

You are so brave to go back after 2 weeks! But lucky you will have Lucia with you.

I totally know the feeling of counting down the days.... I have 4 days until induction and am going nuts waiting!  My family gets here Wednesday and I am so excited. The only thing I am dreading is leaving the dogs for a few days.... always hard for me.

We bought a mini van Thursday, so that dogs and Lawson could both ride in the car together. I really feel like a mom now LOL.

    Have a great week!

  • Congrats on the mini van!  We got one last summer (because I was overlapping more families and needed to fit 3 carseats into a car).  It's great - so spacious!  And it definitely makes me feel like a mom :)

    Thursday is almost here!  Yay!
