where to go for dh's 40th bday-marriott?

hi all!

my dh turns 40 later this year and i'm starting to gather some ideas on what to do. He travels a ton and has over 500,000 marriott points, so i am thinking we will probably do a trip. Any suggestions on a great marriott that you loved? want to go somewhere special. Some ideas I was thinking was Ireland (however not sure if we would want to stay in a marriott there), Paris, Nappa, or Costa Rica. I know all very different. Any recommendations on where I should look into?

Thanks so much!

  • Marriott has hotels in Ireland but I have never been.

We have used reward points to go to Aruba, England (are using to stay in London this year), and Hong Kong.  We plan on staying at the JW Marriott in Hong Kong next year, 120000 points for 5 days, we will book two separate 5 days there (because when you book 4 days you get the 5th free).  DH is super psyched to stay at JW, he usually stays at the Courtyard.

  • We loved the Marriott Paris Vendome.  It's a small hotel near the Louvre.  There is a wonderful courtyard of restaurants nearby in the Place du Marche Saint Honore - one of our favorites is L'Absinthe.  We stayed there for 10 days and had a fantastic time taking our time through the City.  Last time we were there, we stayed at the Marriott Champs Elysees and we didn't like the experience near as much.
  • There is a Marriott in Vienna that is ah-mah-zing.  I just stayed there this summer, and I loved Vienna.  You mentioned Napa, how would you feel about Newport Beach, CA?  Marriott also has some villas in Newport overlooking the ocean and that's a really neat area.
