Did you change back to your maiden name?
I'm kind of on the fence about changing back to my maiden name, only because I want to have the same last name as my son. What did you do/plan to do?
Re: Did you change back to your maiden name?
This. Also, I was fairly young when I was divorced and my lawyer thought that I would be best. Otherwise business associates would assume I had gotten married and it would be uncomfortable to explain. Do whatever feels best to you!

I went back to my maiden name. I hated my married name, it was impossible for people to pronounce and reminded me of XH and the horrible life I had with him. Also, it was a cultural last name and not a culture that I belong to and I felt uncomfortable with it.
I agree with this to an extent. Should I just remain teaching secondary school, I'll probably change my name if I get married again. However, if I decide to go back and get my PhD, which I've been toying with, I may well keep my name, even if I get married again. I'm published under this name, so changing it again would be a headache...
Never thought of this. I don't have kids, so even thought the div. isnt official yet I've gone back to my maiden name on everything I can. I love my dad and his name way more than STBXH and his stupid crap name.
I don't have children, so it was cut and dry for me to go back to my maiden. But I also took my mother's maiden name and hyphenated it with my last name at birth, so my name changes have gone as follows:
Born: Pugs P
Married: Pugs A
Divorced: Pugs E-P
i changed back.
my best friend paid the court extra (it was an option for her) to get her maiden name back before the divorce was final.
