Where's my Tim and Heidi?????!!!!

I'm surprised I didn't see anything posted on here about this so I'm doing it. I want Tim and Heidi back. The only person I like in this version is Isaac Mizrahi in place of Michael Kors. I can't even remember the names of the other two.

I hope this is a one time thing and they will be back for the next PR.

Re: Where's my Tim and Heidi?????!!!!

  • Someone in another post said there was a filming overlap/conflict.

Plus there is also the point that the "Heidi crew" already know these designers and they may have wanted judges that might not have as heavy a bias/favorites.  Which I think is a valid point.

But. BUT.  I don't like Joanna Coles in the role of Tim, and I don't like the hostess.  At first I thought she migth be o.k., but by the end of the first episode, I was' like "oh - you need to go.".   Tim really gives REAL feedback and really gets them thinking.  I felt like Joanna just said generic things that didn't erally MEAN anything.

    Totally agree with this.

  • I agree.  This mentor doesn't hold a candle to Tim -  she offers objective feedback about what magazines look for, which is helpful, but she doesn't seem to have the same level of care for the designers that Tim does.  I love Marchesa dresses but Georgina Chapman is bland and at least thus far seems to offer a very narrow point of view.  And the host is boring and speaks.  way.  too.  slowly.  Isaac is a pleasant surprise.  I liked his show on the Style network but I was worried he would be too bitchy on this show.  But he's been very good so far - he's like the wise old man of the show. lol.

  • I was REALLY looking forward to this season, but I just can't get into it without Tim and Heidi.  I miss Tim the most.
  • I miss them, but there was a filming overlap.  I saw an interview with Tim where he said he didn't want to commit to both knowing that he wouldn't be able to give either one of them his full 100%.

That being said, Joanna scares me, a lot.  BUT, I like that they didn't go the warm and fuzzy route in looking for a mentor.  She's growing on me, as is the host.  I'm curious to see what Isaac brings to the judging, and I love Georgina.  I would be perfectly happy to see her permanently replace Neeeenah Gahceeeeah.

  • I miss them too. I agree that Tim was always more personal with the designers, like he actually cared. This chick is too.....aloof?

While I thought the regular judges were too harsh a lot of the time, I think these judges are WAY TOO SOFT. After most of the people used fabric-like fabrics for the unconventional challenge, and a few of the "ball gowns" weren't actually ball gowns at all....they sugar-coated all their criticisms for the designers and said some things that were more honest while they were deliberating, but it feels like you don't have to try as hard to impress these judges like the last ones.
