Stoller Q - Meghan or anyone else

Meghan I think you have a stroller that has a doubles kit.  Which one do you have again?

Right now we are using my sister's Bumbleride Indie and I love it.  But she is having another baby in May so we have to give it back then.  It makes the most sense to get something that you can get a doubles kit for, but I'm not sure what to get.  I love the air-filled tires and the maneuverability of the Bumbleride, so I'd like something similar in that sense.

Re: Stoller Q - Meghan or anyone else

  • I am in stroller hell right now! I know I have a ton of time to figure it all out, but I am so torn between like 3 strollers, and they are all so different and expensive, that I can't justify buying 3, at least not brand new. I love the practicality of something with a second seat option, like the Baby Jogger City Select or Britax B-Ready. But then again, I love the BJ City Mini and how light it is and the one hand fold. And finally, I have always have my heart set on a BOB Revolution, because even though I haven't been doing much running lately, we are both runners and I love the idea of the "all terrain" stroller and air filled tires and it's supposed to be the best jogging stroller for runners, but it's also so heavy and massive people tell me I don't want it as my main stroller. Ugh! I am so confused and I see no other solution than having multiple strollers and trying to get a couple used from Craigslist or a garage sale or something.

  • We went with the UppaBaby Vista, it doesn't have air filled tired but it rides nice. Lindsay(MrsDan) has one as well.  I liked that it came with the bassinet and a seat.. we just need to buy the appropriate adapter to use it with the carseat. Eventually we'll buy the 2nd seat as well.

Yvonne: I looked at the Britax B-ready but there was so many negative reviews on how hard it is to fold which made me re-think getting that one. So if you can't try it in person, personally I'd be hesitant to get it.

I like the idea of it, but I think if we end up with a convertible one, I'm leaning towards the BJCS, it has the one hand fold similar to the BJCM that I love, which we both played with and folded at BRU last week. The price difference between the Britax and the BJCS isn't much different and the BJCS seems to have more positives than the Britax. Eventually we'll be going to Buy Buy Baby or a local place here and testing out a bunch of strollers and then hopefully registering for one or making a better decision on which to buy for ourselves.

  • I love our BJCS! We have the infant car seat attachment and a 2nd seat on it right now and it's great! I love that A isnt in a rubmble seat and it's super easy to use in tight stores. Plus, with a rumble seat you loose storage space-I still have tons with the BJCS

The only downside is its pretty heavy, so not a one hand closure IMO, and with the infant chicco car seat adaptor and 2nd seat adaptor on it it's pretty big when folded, however, you can quickly remove both to make it more compact. When folded its smaller than my travel system stroller was.

Also, like the uppa, the bjcs has a great resale market!

We have a bob duallie too, and while it rocks for walking and jogging (we have only used it with two toddlers this far) its way too big to shop with.

Let me know if you have any more specific questions about either stroller!

  • Just wanted to add that I have the bjcm and like it accept for the basket which really Isn't very useful but I guess they are fixing it with the 2012s coming out.

  • Thanks!  We went and looked at the BJCS at Babies R Us today and Dh wasn't sold on it.  It was set up with the two seats.  But then we saw a woman in the mall who had it set up with the infant seat on top and a toddler in the second seat and he was sold!  We are going to see if we can get one when we go down to Palm Springs because they are significantly cheaper in the States than Canada.

  • I have an uppa baby vista and love it. I had debated getting the BJCS but it was really new when I was looking at strollers and since I didn't have an option of seeing them in person I went with one that had lots of reviews and good ones. Sometimes I wish I would of gone with the BJCS but I really do love the vista.
