Erin's post reminded of this story from a few years back.
I had a gynecologist appt., when I arrived my doctor was out and had another one filling in for her named Dana. Ok, cool. I'm all set and waiting for the female doctor to get the visit over with. In comes a male doctor and I was shocked. In my head I was all "this can't be Dana, where's Dana?" He introduces himself and I was laughing to myself at how wrong my assumption was. As he's doing the exam I was l thinking to myself "Duh, Dana Carvey is a dude!"
At that point in time, I never had a male gyn before. I was thrown off my game and couldn't even enjoy my appointment. ![]()
Re: Names can be deceiving
oh noes, how awkward! I would automatically assume female, too, because that's my (female) BFF's name.
There's also Dana White the (male) founder of UFC. I dare anyone to tell him he has a girly name, though. haha
Watch this Delma person turn out to be a dude! We'll have to wait and see...
In college I had a male friend named Jody and a female friend named Kyle.
apparently for orientation Jody who clearly marked on his paperwork that he was male was assigned to room with a female.
