who is tired of hearing about Tim Tebow?
Is he gay? Is he a hero? Is he a great QB? Does he suck? Is he Jesus? Why he has/has not a right to pray in public? Even God can't help him against the Patriots. He'll need Jesus to help him beat the Patriots.... blah blah blah
I don't give a flea on a rat's patootie if he prays. It doesn't hurt anyone. I don't care if he is gay. I don't care if he's a good QB (although that's probably the most interested I *should* be, since that is his job and why anyone knows who he is). Why is this a big deal? Players take a knee and pray and point to the heavens all the time during games.
Either like him and what he stands for or don't. I'm so tired of hearing about this on both sides-- sometimes it's just mean/petty and mostly it's just irrelevant and ignorant grand-standing.
(I realize, now, that this has turned in to a rant/vent. So I want to clarify that I'm talking about "The Public's" comments, not specific people who say things like "I think it's great to see a football player who isn't about his macho, dog-fighting, womanizing, fast-car-driving self.")

Re: Am I the only one in the world...
I am so tired of hearing about Tim Tebow, you would think the guy was the 2nd coming of christ with all the hoopla about him!
The only thing anyone should care about is if he is a good QB/player or not...what he does in his spare time is his business not the business of ESPN or any other sports station!
That being said I'm sure we will hear much less about him now that he is done for the season since he got his a$$ handed to him last night by the Pats!
Part of the problem is that he was (is?) highly overrated and was taken in the first round when he really shouldn't have been. His jersey was the highest selling jersey this year and he wasn't even starting.
I, personally, am not a huge fan (especially with the religious hoopla that surrounds him) but from what I have read he seems like a pretty good guy and when you compare him to other quarterbacks in the league (e.g., Rothlisberger) you sort of find an appreciation for him.
This is the issue, though-- the media and general public are not saying "he's a nice guy who doesn't hurt other people, animals, etc." They're linking it with his being a good Christian, not just a good human being. And then, of course, the detractors mock his Christianity and make it sound like he and his fans think he's got some special direct line to god or is Jesus or something. It's offensive to me on both sides.
Why can't they just play the freaking game-- and remember that it is a GAME. Nobody's life is being saved; jobs are not being created for the mass of unemployed; a health care system that works for everyone is not being outlined. They're marching a ball down the field. Fun? Absolutely. World-changing? Hardly... Forum for religion/Divine Intervention? Heck no...
