s/o "Dragging their Feet"

I applied for a position that is going through a recruiter.  In the interview, he made it seem like they wanted someone in ASAP since it is currently being filled by temps who do not have the correct background.  He then told me I'm everything they're looking for, etc, etc, etc.  I sent a follow-up thank you email and called a week after my interview with him to see if there was any update.

He told me they're still really impressed with me and my background but the hiring manager is dragging their feet and as soon as he knew, he'd contact me.  I understood since it was the holidays and everything and getting back up to speed.  It has now been over a week since he told me this.

How long would you wait before contacting again to see if there has been any change?  Another week, month, wait it out until they contact you?  Is this time frame normal?  I haven't interviewed in over 5 years and can't remember what is 'typical' for hearing back.  I obviously don't want to be a pain in their back but would like to know if there has been any new updates.

Re: s/o "Dragging their Feet"

  • With it being the holidays it's normal.  I'd give them a call on Tuesday and see what kind of response you get.
