House Hunting Pics!

Here are the two houses that have made our short list.

House 1

House 2

The first house is a bit overpriced for both the neighborhood and the city.  The current owner has only had it a year and is most likely trying to recoop all of her money with what the house is listed at.

The second house has that transformer box in the backyard.  But, when re-visiting the house, it doesn't make any noise.  The humming must have been from someone's heater, not the box.  We can plant some trees in the back and make the transformer "disappear."

Re: House Hunting Pics!

  • Oooh love them both! I think I like the first one more, but if it's overpriced, the second would work just fine for me :)  I like the fences in both, and that first kitchen is gorgeous!

  • I vote for the 2nd one. I do like the 1st one too, but I don't like the counter tops. But since I won't be the one living in it, that shouldn't matter if you do like it :-p.

I love the 2nd one! And I agree...some good landscaping will make you forget the transformer is even there.

  • I agree with Jessica, I am not a big fan of the countertops in #1.  Although, I do like the stainless upgrade (although, I have heard there is a problem with fingerprints on the stainless)

Do they both have the same amount of bedrooms/baths?  It is hard to tell which garage is larger, but I think like that the garage in #2 looks like it has some built-in shelving.

Although, I am such a sucker, I like the way that #2 is staged better, so it might have some bearing on why I like it more.  #1 looks like a museum with all that victorian/gold/chunky living room furniture.

Yes! I do not like the style that the current owners of #1 used to furnish/decorate. I'm sure that played into me liking #2 better.

  • Both are really nice. I agree with PPs that I am not a huge fan of the counter-top in #1. I actually like both kitchens. The transformer is an easy thing to cover up with a little landscaping. I don't think you could go wrong with either
  • I love the kitchen in the 1st house, but both houses look really nice!

  • Both are gorgeous!  However, I think the kitchen in #2 won me over.

  • They are both so nice! I really like #2, I think with some landscaping the box wouldn't be a big deal. Good luck deciding :)
