long time, no see! i've had an insane school year thus far, between work and family, and i'm vowing to reclaim my own life in 2012...so here i am, back on thenest.
wondering if there are any runners out there...i'm fairly new to the running thing, and am wondering what fuel you use during a long run. i know that for me, i do need something at about mile 5 or 6, if i want to get in a few more miles solid. i just don't know what products/foods would be best.
i posted this on H&F already, and didn't get too much feedback of the...ahem...useful variety, so i thought i'd try over here, where i know it's friendly...
2012 Races:
Emerald Nuts Midnight Run (4m) 1/1/12
Coogan's Salsa, Blues, and Shamrocks Run (5k) 3/4/12
Colon Cancer Challenge (15k) 4/1/12
Purple Stride NYC (5k) 4/21/12
Run to Combat Autism (5k) 4/29/12
RnR Philadelphia (Half Marathon) 9/16/12
Re: any runners here?
Me! I'm new to it also, training for a 10K and I've only run two 5Ks so far.
I haven't gotten to the point of needing fuel because I'm only up to about 4 miles right now, but I know my husband uses GU energy gel. He does triathlons so I trust his judgement, lol.
