Annoying Coworkers

Vent about yours so I'm not the only one, please.

One of my CWers, who is basically a peer though he's been here about a million years I'm only on year two, just walked into my office out of the blue and told me how to deal with one of the partners I work with.  Not suggested, told.

I'm very good at what I do thankyouverymuch and you have no idea how I work with my partner.  This guy annoys the living daylights out of me because he pulls crap like this all the time, acting as if he's my boss.

Re: Annoying Coworkers

  • At my old job, I had about 10 girls, all aged 18-22, working for me, as well as the occasional gay boy in the same age range. The things they did/said were always surprising.

Once one of the girls took a pg test and got a BFP in the bathroom at work. I was at my desk and she was sobbing in the break room. She calls her bf to tell him that she's pregnant and I heard her saying "Pulling out doesn't work. It's called pre-ejaculate. You are such a moron."

I had a crazy hypochondriac. She would come in every.single.day with something wrong with her. I am 100% serious when I say some days she would limp in to work, claiming her knee or ankle were hurt. When I was pregnant, the day after I was tested for gestational diabetes, she came in to work and said "I feel lightheaded... I have low blood sugar. I'm being tested for diabetes next week." Uh, yeah, ok.

  • I have one who is awful at communication. She's not as bad in person or on the phone, but email, wow. She is so bossy and undermining and rude over email. Most of the time I just delete what she sends me because if I hit reply I will likely write back something REALLY snarky.

Example: Punky, let me know that you are on top of this.

I want to say, "B!tch. I don't owe you any "let you know I'm on top of anything." and second, "No, I'm just sitting here, not doing anything. I don't really know what this email is about. At all. Thanks!"

And she's also what I call "Calm before the storm" syndrome. I know if I haven't heard from her lately, something is building up inside of her, stirring, stirring, stirring. And BAM! I'll get hit with a nasty email from her, bossing me around, this and that, on and on.

She just started when I got back from maternity leave. I am pretty sure:

    1. she and her manager do not like one another
    2. she is unable to hack the high pressure, low communication environment that is where I work

    3. that she feels she needs to prove something to me, though I don't give a rat's ass what she does or how she does it.

  • My boss at the dance school was so rude & insulting last night. It took every ounce I had not to walk out & tell her to bite me. At the end of the night, I did tell her to do it herself & walked out of the room. I really think I may quit if she talks to me like that again.

The thing that really drives me crazy is that I got a new day job last April. It really demanding of my time. I debated whether or not I wanted to teach this year because of my day job. I decided that teaching/dancing is something I really enjoy, so I would do it two nights a week & Saturdays.
My boss has been acting like this all year which has made me really hate going there. My students don't like her either. I never project my feelings on my students, but its funny how they feel the same way too.
I really regret my decision to stay.

I could, but I would feel really bad for my students. They're kids & I just don't think it's fair to them in the middle of the year.

  • One of my coworkers is hired as a one-on-one aide for a special ed. child. This woman is useless! I teach music, and there are plenty of times in the class when the child does not need assistance, but this aide is in and out the room constantly, talking with one of the other aides, in the middle of my class, or texting! I have had to ask them to stop talking while I'm teaching, which is annoying, since they are supposed to be helping with classroom management issues. Last week, I had to pull the really useless aide aside and inform her that she should not be texting in the middle of my class.

We also have another aide who is a bit annoying, but she is just annoying because... well, she's just not very smart. I can't tell you how many times she has yelled out answers to questions, or given kids answers that are just wrong! And bless her heart, but the woman can not keep a steady beat or match pitch to save her life.

  • Oh gosh I had so many crazy coworkers before.

One guy would clip his finger nails and floss at his desk.

Same guy also would try to take magazines off of my desk to bring to the BATHROOM with him.  I shudder just thinking about it.
