I watched the first two episodes of season 2. I love it! I have a question about the middle daughter Edith. The guy she kissed in the barn, was he married to that women who saw them?

Yes, that's why the wife wrote the note saying she wouldn't be needed anymore!
Shows that Edith is a hypocrite when she condemns Mary.
As much as I want to dislike her, I pity Edith.
