So I went to my OBGYN right after Christmas for my yearly. She asked if my pill was okay, and sent an electronic prescription to my pharmacy on the spot. I was in the middle of a pack, so I didn't need the prescription until today, so I went to pick it up yesterday.
Apparently my insurance no longer covers the medication. (What I think happened is that my doctor forgot to put for cramps in my Rx, which is how they usually validate it. They say you can't have it just for pregnancy reasons, it must be something else). Anyway, I'm REALLY annoyed that when I went to pick up the prescription which is about 20 minutes away, they just said... oh, your insurance doesn't cover this anymore. You need to call the insurance company.
Really? My prescription has been there for WEEKS and no one called me to take care of this ahead of time? So instead, I am going to have to start my pack late, which will be whenever this mess is sorted out. Obviously my insurance company wasn't open yesterday or today, so we'll see. Uggggh!
Re: Annoyed
Ughhh...that is frustrating! I hate that pharmacies don't have the customer service that they used to. I get that they're busy, but if you can see that a script is pending in your system and there is an insurance issue, it wouldn't be that hard to call the person and let them know.
Hope you can get this sorted out soon! If nothing else, maybe your doc can send in the script with the note for cramps and you can get it tomorrow?
Ugh, that's annoying!
I picked up my pills last week & they jumped from $35 to $60! I am glad that we planned on going off them after this cycle! I haven't bothered to call my insurance provider yet to ask why but this post reminded me to do that tomorrow! Grrr!
I was just gonna suggest this. I was also going to say you could just call your Dr and tell her to put it in for cramps instead and resubmit the script and explain to the pharmacy it was a mistake.

That is so annoying! I hate dealing with the insurance company...
I just had an issue with mine on Friday. My prescription ran out, and they never told me. So when I didn't get the auto-refill call, I called them to ask them to fill it. He said, sure, give us 20 minutes. He then called me back and said, oh sorry, there was a mistake- we're not almost done, your prescription expired, and we have to call it in to your doctor to ask for a new one. My doctor is closed on Friday afternoons! Luckily, someone was there and sent a new one over. So now I"m good for at least 3 more months...

Evidently, part of it is in how the doctor writes the prescription. When I first started on it in college, I was getting 3 packs at a time, then all of a sudden, it was one. Then Friday, I asked about it since I hadn't gotten them that way in a while, and girl in the pharmacy said, "Well, I guess that's what your doctor asked for."
