Hi I'm Brienne, I'm from the St. Louis area I've been lurking for a while and I just had a question.
My H is in his last year of college and in AFROTC, so he'll be commissioning in May after graduation. We just found out we will be moving to Randolph AFB in August. We are not sure if we want to live on base so I was trying to start looking into other rentals, but I am having a hard time because I don't know the area at all. Does anyone know anything about San Antonio ( what are good areas or not exc.) or have any suggestions on house hunting?
Thanks!
Re: Hello & Question
I would call a local realtor or maybe even check out the local board. When I had to try and find a place to live from across the county I used the automated housing referral network.

I agree with PPs.
I used ahrn last week and found a house within a day. I just looked at the houses I liked and contacted those real estate agents. It was simple!
There are a few ladies here who have lived in SA. I'm sure they will pop on soon. With the weekend and the holiday, things are a bit slow. Keep checking back.
I visited SA when my H was TDY there for 12 weeks. I absolutely loved it. I don't know enough about it to tell you an area to move to, though. I did like an area to the north west of the base. It was newer, had nice neighborhoods and lots of new stores. I don't know what that area was called, though. I do know that I wouldn't want to live in the post housing I saw on Ft Sam, though.
