40 weeks and sick? Anyone else experience this?

Hi All,

So, I am officially due tomorrow and I have a cold.  My son had croup this weekend...it was horrible and he is just getting over the worst of it.  So I have a few questions that go with this kind of situation.  Sawyer got an oral steriod to help him with croup and has now had a much better day, with a low grade to no fever at this point.  I know he is contagious till he is no longer symptomatic, so I am happy I haven't gone into labor yet...but now with all the stress, the lack of good sleep, and being sick I am totally at my wits end.  I also know it is partyly due to my hormones and the fact I could go into labor at any time.  So...today I have been fighting a cold, sneezing a lot, runny nose, watery eyes, sore throat...have any of the wonderful moms out their in DSM nestie world had this kind of experience and, more specifically being sick themself and going into labor?  Also, do you have any pointers...if you were sick or not?  I would really appreciate a mom's pov on this one.

Thanks soo  much in advance...from tired prego lady with the sniffles. :)

  • Hey Cindy!

First off, congrats!!!!  I can't believe you are due already!

Second, Kellen also has croup (got steroid about a week and a half ago, and we have to take him back in today for a very long night we just had).  I had a slight cold going in to labor (love these winter babies!) and as long as I wasn't running a temp, they didn't seem worried.  I had the sore throat, runny nose and slight cough.  Delivered Kellen without problem!

Hope that puts your mind at ease- I know how the hormones start getting to us!!!

  • Thanks T,

I really appreciate your feedback...it does seem crazy right now.  All I can do is hope all goes well and pray for a healthy girl.

I hope we can get together when it all settles down.
