Where to stay in Orlando, Florida?
We are going to Florida at the end of march and have no idea where to stay. We will be doing universal and maybe a few other attractions but the main purpose is to relax at the resort. We have a DS that is 3.5 so we would like somewhere kid friendly. I am also looking for a resort with nice rooms but not insanely over priced. Any input would be greatly appreciated!
Re: Where to stay in Orlando, Florida?
Well, there are about a million hotels in Orlando! You keep mentioning resort as opposed to hotel, so I am assuming you want something more than just a pool and a room. That knocks out a lot.
A true "resort" is obviously gonna cost you more money. I don't know what your budget is. Some say $300 is overpriced and others wouldn't blink and expect to pay and then some. So, if you can help me out with your budget, I can probably steer you in the right direction.
Here are just a few places that are very kid friendly: (they vary in price a great deal but there are some deals out there) I am guessing you are coming during Spring Break . . . expect things to be a tad more expensive and rooms already booked.

I say resort because we are looking for something that has a water play area, pools, restaurants and other activities. I noticed allot of the places list their rooms as suites and have a kitchen. We do not need this. I really dont plan on cooking while on vacation.
We don't really want to spend more then $200-250 a night.
We will be in orlando the last week of march hopefully.
Thanks for your help as I am feeling VERY overwhelmed by the large choice of hotels in orlando.
I usually stay at the Sheraton Vistana (either one) when we go to Disney. Even though I don't cook when on vacation, I like having the large kitchen and the washer/dryer. I also like the suite style so DD can go to bed and I can stay up for a bit longer and have some wine or whatever.
I'm actually going down without DD for business and extending the trip with some girlfriends. We are staying at Floridays and also looked into The Point and Caribe Royale. I looked at prices and then at Trip Advisor for reviews.
besides the disney resorts, we've stayed at the marriott and we loved it. i think there are a few down there and all are very nice. my dh stayed at the jw for work and raved about it recently.
have fun!
