Rayskit10 and anyone else who came out yesterday

I wanted to thank everyone who came out yesterday to cheer on the half and full marathon runners.

Viula, I saw you in the Heights with your Nestie sign. It really put a smile on my face.

Also, Congrats to everyone who ran yesterday.

  • Thanks to all the supporters!  And the nesties sign-was a conversation piece with a guy I ran with for 4 miles!

  • Glad you guys saw it! I looked but didn't see any faces. It's so hard in the throngs of people and you often don't look the way I am used to seeing you when you're running a race!! Anyway, glad I was able to make you guys smile :)

  • Aargghh!  I missed it!  I was looking for you, V.
  • It's been a while since I've made an appearance on TN, but just wanted to comment that I saw the Nestie sign too and it made me smile. The crowd support is why the Houston Marathon is my favorite race. Thanks for coming!!

I was looking for you too and never saw you. I saw your DH and M but missed you. I wanted to tell you though, that the Heights is my favorite part of the run. I know it's friends and family of runners, too, but support through your neighborhood is just awesome. It's an amazing wall of people, especially from Key to Studewood.  Thanks to you, and everyone else, who came out to cheer on the runners. You guys have no idea how motivating the crowds are!

It was just a piece of poster board with "GO NESTIES" painted on it with the kids poster paint! But it was bright :)

  • I was over on Allen Pkwy and Taft, but I didn't see a single person I knew that was running to the 1/2 marathon. It was just way too crowded.

Congrats on finishing the race!  It was perfect weather.

  • I was at the medical tent at 16 (s. post oak and hidalgo).  I didn't see anyone  I recognized, but I did see lots of people.  It was fun and I was really proud of Houston for showing up and supporting the runners on Saturday and Sunday.
  • I was at Montrose and Bissonnet (mile 9 of the full.)  I saw both of my friends who were running it, but the funny thing was, they had to call out to me.  I was checking my phone to check on their progress when each one ran by.  It was funny!  I was able to snap some pics of them too.

  • KrisB- thanks for the link. I hadn't even thought about the fact there would be Nesties who weren't on this board. I'm definitely doing a Nestie sign every year!

PAGAS- same thing happened to me. I was looking out for my friend Ginnie and she was about 5 feet past me when she screamed my name. I guess she saw the "Go Ginnie" sign, too :)
