happy (miserable) monday!
i had a good, lazy weekend. lunch with some fabulous nesties on staurday, a bday party on sat night, but the rest of the time was spent at home, in sweats, and some if those times, napping. it was wonderful.
but i can think of 3 reasons why i shouldn't be at work today....1) snow. 2) MLK day. 3) i have a sore throat that's trying to kill me.

I'm happy to be at work today! I had a great weekend and relaxed a lot and I think I'm almost through the first season of Gossip Girl.
I'm sorta addicted to that show, even though the first few episodes almost killed me.. WAY too much drama.
I hope it doesn't snow anymore!
I'm trying to decide whether to go to work or not. I have a feeling getting to work will not be the problem. It's getting back.

He's the best! He's the only person I really trust.
Happy Monday, everyone! I am excited because DH has the day off so he will be hanging out at home with me, but that means I probably won't get near the amount of stuff done today that I'd like.
Last night DH and I tried a place near our house for dinner that I've been meaning to try for 2 years. It was delicious but the problem is they're always so hard to get a table at so I probably won't go back anytime soon. It was nice that we had early reservations since we're both still jet-lagged and were in bed before 10 PM.
No big plans today - just going to pick up some dry cleaning, run to Aaron Brothers and pick up some items I had framed, maybe go to Target, and then go to the grocery store to get something to make for dinner tonight. DH has his personal trainer this evening so it will be nice to get back into a bit of a routine now that the holidays are over. Hope you all have a lovely day! So envious of all this snow talk... here it is sunny.
Good morning! Tman was supposed to start back to school today from his winter break (private schools don't always give a day off for MLK). I prayed for snow so I could keep him, and...well, he's home with me. I am guessing he won't go back until Thursday, but we'll see what the weather brings.
On a good/bad note, James works construction and his job was cancelled. I'm glad we'll have another day home together, but if he doesn't work, he doesn't get paid, so that's a bummer for us $ wise.
On a personal note, I am "backed up" digestion wise and extremely uncomfortable. Any tips to offer?
TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.

This and I'd get the chocolate flavored one. IMO it's way better than the original.
I'm at work, but only for a few more hours. My doctor who is afraid of snow (thankfully) called out today, so I'm leaving at noon. Then I get to go get M and hang out with her the rest of the day! WOO! Snow day!
And then tomorrow, I'm assuming my doc will call out again, so I'm thinking I'll be out again tomorrow. WOOOOOOOO!

I'm at work today.. but it's fine. I also work 2.5 miles away.. and dh drove me in. lol. I might see if I can bum a ride home tomorrow night. Or... I'm half considering walking home. That might be a little crazy.
Well, my husband is just heading out now. We live on the Eastside, on cougar mountain - so crazy steep roads. And while we've driven in real snow our whole lives, we've never done it down a mountain before so I'm feeling a little tense.
Thanks for the weather blog - I sent that to him.
He works at South Lake Union, so it's a drive and I'm really hoping that those he works with will be conservative about the weather so he doesn't get stuck there and not able to come home.
This is all very new to us, having never been here in the winter, and we really don't know what to expect.
Trying to get my car towed to get fix, the autobody shop said they wrecked two two trucks trying to get down the hill i live on.
Hubby took a vacation day to help take care of it
SOOOOOO not looking forward to going to work tomorrow, esp since it will probably be in a rental.
Waiting to get my stitches out right now.
In other news I trimmed bkb's finger nails last night and I cut her thumb:( I feel like the worst mommy in the world. She seems like her perfectly happy self, but we are still taking her to the doctor. I want it took take a look at it just to make sure I haven't ruined her life. I'm only filing her nails for now on.

Good morning!
I'm off today. The news reporters keep saying "well it's a good thing most people aren't commuting today" but I'm the only one I know who isn't at work. And, I had to take H to work, so I was out during normal commuting hours anyways.
I just got back from driving H to Bellevue, and the roads weren't bad at all. The surface streets around my house are a little treacherous, but the freeways were pretty clear. I might venture out to the gym in a little bit, but I think another round of coffee is in order first.

I'm not a fan of the snow and ice, the only good thing about snow is that I can use the temperature as an excuse to dress my dog in his jacket when we go for walks, and he looks adorable dressed up.
The walk to the bus stop and through the sketchy non-pedestrian-friendly office park was not fun this morning, and I'm really hoping they pity us at work and I can leave before 5pm before the ice gets worse. But I do have a pre-scheduled 3-day work week this week, so I only have to tough it out through Wednesday.

I used the snow as an excuse to not get to work on time. I cleaned all the snow off our cars last night so that helped, but then it did precipitate last night so there was about 1/4-1/2" of popcorn snow which made the windshields get the thicker layer of ice I was trying to avoid. My neighborhood was a bit snowy but totally drivable and MLK was super clear. My commute was mostly good except for one spot where there was a huge slushy ice slurry that I slid on but since I had a green light and had been going slow AND started my slow-down/stop well ahead of time, it wasn't a problem.
My damn office is cold though and only 7 people total made it in. One department has the day off (their swap-out day for having to work on Jan 2 when the rest of us have that off).
A lot on my plate this week! I have to finish necklace #2 for my sister and then make the apron for her other gift. I'm worried she won't like either necklace (I'm making two) but I don't know what else to get her instead
GAH! I don't usually feel so much pressure about this but after the unequal Christmas gifts, I don't want to look lame again!
I work till 8. Malls do not care how the weather is. Or that it's MLK day. They're not even closing earlier today!
Weekend was ok. Nestie gtg on Saturday and then I was lazy and sat on the couch watching Big Bang Theory season 4.

I took some personal time and tried to sleep in this morning. I didn't sleep well worrying about the weather and DH trying to get out of town.
They're actually happy I took some time this morning, so I'll be in the office this afternoon since a ton of them are packing up and headed skiing.
I also dressed comfy and packed my gloves and cowl scarf so that I will be toasty warm when waiting on all the delayed buses this afternoon.
I slept in until noon and I could totally go straight back to bed. I am exhausted all the time now. BOO.
Today, though, I desperately need to get some work done on my kitchen. It's not quite to the "burn it down and sort out the remains later" stage, but it's getting hard to do anything in there.
