Amsterdam Tulips
Does anyone know when the earliest the tulip fields are in bloom?

Keukenhof opens March 22nd. It is usually pretty sparse then.

The height of bloom season is usually around April 21st. The flower parade is on April 21st and it is absolutely CRAZY that day.
I went to the flower parade when it came through Haarlem and highly recommend it...it was crowded, but not out of control and the floats were amazing! It's night by the time it gets to Haarlem, but it's the last stop, so all the floats park on the street and you can check them out up close. Haarlem is an easy train ride from Amsterdam (I did an overnight...spent the afternoon checking out some things in Haarlem like the Corey Ten Boom House and then did the parade that night and back to Amsterdam the next day).
