I'm not. And I has anyone that is.
Re: Is everyone off today?
I'm here.
I'd like to extend my sincerest thank you to MLK to making traffic super duper light today.
That was the ONE thing I despised about working for corporate america- dress codes. I would wear the most cockamamie outfits trying to skate by on the feel of pajama but the look of corporation. I'd wear these drawstring cotton pants with a sweater and real-ish shoes so it sort of looked like I was dressed. But, i hated every minute. I don't see why you can't do your work and be comfortable. Especially if you never leave your cube/only see other people in your office.
Ugh HT! Man, this stomach thing is all over the freaking country. It can seriously die now.
TSD, you are preaching to the choir. I am such a slob. I haven't been clothes shopping since right before I returned from maternity leave. All of my pants are one or two sizes too big. But I figure, with no exercise and the way I have been eating lately, I'll probably fit into them someday. Plus, our HR guy doesn't give me $hit when I wear ill fitting clothes, but he did when I wore jeans for a couple of weeks straight (I had to test out the firm's policy).
I'm off today but working. I'm so dedicated.
Dude, what IS it with that? Charlotte spits up and then I need an IV 3 days later. I mean, it's great that they don't get it as bad but some warning that my insides are about to shoot out of every orifice might be nice so you can at least clear your calendar.
For less then ten cents a day, you can feed a hungry child.
I'll go ahead and use this thread for a random.
I got a speeding ticket yesterday. I have never been pulled over before. The cop just took my license, went back to his car for about a minute and came back with my ticket. He was super nice and all, didn't lecture me about going 75 in a 55 (on the highway), but it was all very quick and I was surprised he didn't take my registration and proof of insurance (aren't they supposed to check that you are complying with all laws and make sure you aren't in a stolen car). I felt a little robbed out of the whole experience. I mean, I have to pay $165, at least you could have given me a good-bad cop story dude.
Off. Love working for the state. Ok I lied, I hate working.
I'd be pizzed about not getting the full cop experience too. First time I got pulled over (in freaking Nebraska, freshman year of College) I got a $385 ticket, a finger pointed in my face and a stern warning "you need to slow down, miss".
Why thank you officer, I will see if my workstudy check is enough to cover this RIDICULOUS-ASSFACE ticket. I'm still heated.
My dad is planning to try to contest a ticket on the grounds that he hasn't had a speeding ticket in 30 years or some such nonsense. Everyone he has mentioned it to has told him what a stupid idea it is, but he just keeps on trucking. I kind of wish I could be in court for that.
I'm working. Was working super hard because it's performance review day. But now that's over so I can slack again.
