Moms - going away for the weekend, what to pack??

so next weekend, the three of us are going up to my ILs condo in NH so that Tim can go skiing.  since this will be our first overnight trip with A, I'm paranoid that I'm going to forget something (and there is basically no where to go shopping up there if I DO forget something)

I've started making my list, but I want other moms to look at it and make sure I am not leaving off something really important.

- Diapers/wipes/etc
- diaper bag
- pack-n-play (has a changing station it - not that it's necessary)
- couple of blankets (for tummy time, in the car, etc)
- couple of toys (not that she plays with much right now)
- lots of outfits (probably 3 per day.  and because of her harness, this really just means a lot of onesies and the 4 pairs of pants that fit over her harness)
- sleep sack
- pump/bottles/freezer bags/cooler for anything I freeze
- boppy
- Rock-n-Play or bouncy seat
- monitor?  (may not need it - the condo isn't that big and she'll be sleeping in our room)
- sleep sheep for white noise

thoughts?!

  • That sounds about right-- I never plan S's outfits out ahead of time and randomly grab things... I need to learn to do that so I don't bring a ridiculous amount like I have been.

We bring the monitor since she goes down before us and we sleep in the basement and wouldn't be able to hear her from upstairs. We brought the bouncy seat the last two times we've gone to the ILs and that works great... we don't bring the boppy anymore.

Maybe a thermometer-- we keep forgetting ours. Do you give her vitamin D?

  • I'd bring a thermometer and infant tylenol just in case. otherwise  I think you covered it. Maybe a little jacket if you take a walk? I don't think we bought anything else when we went to StL for 6 days when they were about 10 weeks...

    -tylenol
    -butt ointment
-nasal aspirator (in case she gets stuffy up there)
    -baby wash/lotion
-an extra bink (if she takes one, in case one gets lots in the car)
    -bibs

3 outfits per day seems like alot to me.  Is she a spitter upper?  Levi was never a spitter upper, and he rarely ever had any diaper blowouts, so he only had 2 outfits on.  An outfit or onsie during the day and jammies.  If we ever went anywhere for an extended time, I only took one extra outfit.
