Baby with rare skin disease...died

http://www.foxnews.com/health/2012/01/16/louisiana-toddler-dies-after-two-year-battle-with-rare-skin-disease/

Someone posted the mom's blog on here.  I just saw that the baby died.  My heart goes out to the mom.

Re: Baby with rare skin disease...died

  • Such a sad, awful story.  I'm sure she finds some peace in him no longer being in constant pain.  But it would not ease any sort of pain from losing your baby.  She is an amazingly strong person.

  • I've followed that blog for awhile now.. that woman is amazing, seriously.  Her lost post made me cry and cry and cry.  Poor sweet baby, atleast he's no longer in pain. :(

  • How sad. I read a little of her blog awhile back.

Was she a single mom? The posts that I read never talked about the dad.

  • They were married when the little guy was born but they ended up divorcing.  After that she said he did not play an active role in Tripp's care.  Awful.

If I am remembering correctly, he chose to leave after the baby was born and didn't want to deal with the situation.

    Real stand up guy.  No

  • I've read the blog a couple times.  So sad and bittersweet.

Ditto about the dad, such a douche bag.  It's your flippin kid for gosh sake.

I held my little guy for hours that night in silence, just soaking it in.  Life is so fragile.

It really puts things in perspective.  That mom is such a strong person, I'm glad that she was able to hold him as he passed.

  • I read her last post earlier today and just cried...really makes you realize how fortunate and lucky you are to have a healthy baby...praying that he is in peace now-
