Interview Shoes

I have an interview at a large hospital in the next week. The HR manager that I spoke with specifically said, you should be prepared to walk up to a mile from start to end of the interview. The HR office is one block from the in-patient part of the hospital, where part of the interview will be held. So, what type of shoes would you wear? 3-4 inch heels are NOT an option.

Re: Interview Shoes

  • I would wear a black pantsuit with black leather, low-heeled boots underneath.
  • Comfy kitten heels or wedges

  • I work in a large hospital where I am often walking long distances each day to get to the inpatient floors, also.

I would wear rubber soled wedge shoes or nice ballet-type flats. There are nice ones out there that look dressy.

That's what I wear on a daily basis as well as most of the administrative people.

    This.

  • A mile is not that long... If you are used to heels I would just do the regular 3-4 inches. Ive done 3 miles in heels nonproblem but I wear them often enough. But if you rarely wear heels I would just wear something your feet are used to. You don't want to break in a new pair of shoes with a full mile. Flats or dressy sneakers (no lace kind, full leather)

Unfortunately, I am not used to walking that far in heels. I wear Dansko clog type shoes to work everyday.

  • I've definitely gotten my $20 worth from these shoes. I wear them with dress pants or jeans. They aren't the prettiest, but are really comfortable and great for walking long distances or when it's not great weather.

  • Dansko is dressy enough. I can't imagine wearing those walking a mile but if you are used to a heavy shoe like that it should be no problem.
  • Buy some Naturalizer 2" heels--they have a variety of styles, so choose a conservative pair you like. Extremely comfortable and easy to walk in.

If you check out the Corprette blog they have a whole list of suggestions.
