HUGE Vent (BR)
I am livid. Like, punch a random stranger livid. As I think I've discussed on here before, DH is mixed (African/White). Benjamin looks white......pale skin, blue eyes, white boy, however his features are 100% DH. He is literally a white version of my hubby.
I was just in a store with B and DH. I was holding B and DH was standing next to us...close enough that he was definitely with us. This woman started talking about how cute B was and how pretty his eyes are. AND ASKED ME IF HE LOOKED LIKE HIS FATHER. Once I picked my jaw up off the floor, I said, well, look for yourself. I bit my tongue but I was (and am) livid.
This/similar has happened before. In the hospital after he was born, a new nurse came on and asked me where the baby's father was....while DH was sitting on the bed next to me,
It just really gets to me that people don't think DH is B's dad. Especially since, as I said above, Benjamin looks EXACTLY like Gregg.

I'm sorry you've had to go through that. People are so stupid sometimes and don't think before they speak.
A friend of mine goes through the same thing with his daughter. He is mixed-raced as well (cape verdean and white), but is pretty dark skinned. His daughter is very pale, has blue eyes, and very light blonde hair. She lookes exactly like him, though. He's mentioned people making stupid comments before and I feel so badly because I know it hurts him.
Again, I'm so sorry that people are so dumb. I know it's probably impossible, but try not to let it get to you too badly.
