Millersville, MD

Hello!  My husband and I are considering moving to Millersville (Brightview Dr. area)  Any thoughts?  What do you like, what don't you like?  Thanks!!

Re: Millersville, MD

  • I have no real thoughts on it, other than it's fairly convenient to both Baltimore and Annapolis. However, I don't think it has the same sort of shopping conveniences as the Crofton/Gambrills area does, and I also consider it slightly more run down than Crofton/Gambrills, just because of its proximity to Glen Burnie. However, I could be totally wrong -- my only experience with Millersville is that one of my coworkers lives in an apartment there right off 97.
  • All I really know of Millersville is Shipley's Choice and it's a nice neighborhood. Close to Kinder Farm park, close to shopping, restaurants and 97. I used to housesit there and I always thought the airplane noise was a bit loud for me though.
  • The area near Shipley's, towards Severna Park, is very nice.
  • That area is very close to Rt 3 and Rt 2, with lots of shopping and things to do. I use to live near there and I would not have any issue with living near there.

  • I live in the area you're talking about. Just south of here is Severna Park, and a nice area. Just north is a not great (but not terrible) area, Glen Burnie and Old Mill. I like it here. I feel safe, I think there's a neighborhood fairly close by I would not live in (more towards Old Mill and Glen Burnie) but other than that, I like it a lot. Very close to Kinder Farm as PP mentioned, there's a Giant about 5 minutes away in Glen Burnie but I prefer the Safeway that's 10-12 minutes away in Severna Park. A Wawa, CVS, and a couple other gas stations right nearby. Shopper's, which I don't care for, but it's close if you need to pick up something real quick. Very convenient to 97.
