I was reading your last post about your sewing machine and its feet. My Mom's Singer (Athena2000, from the 70's) just died and I still have it for sentimental reasons. It has snap on, high shank feet (I think that is how the dealer that was trying to repair the machine described it, I don't know by looking LOL). I'll have to check which feet I have, but here is a photo of one on the machine. I could part with the feet if they might work for you! I bought a brand new machine when this one died, so I will not be needing the feet.
Re: **Ruby Tue**
That is so sweet of you! I really appreciate the offer. However, after spending the evening looking into this issue more, I think it would be a waste of postage. Apparently, the "super high" shank is more than just a high shank, and is a really annoying, impossible to find thing. And, as I've been learning, any old snap-on foot will not work. I'm not sure why, since the theory behind snap-on feet is they are so easy to change and they *should* be interchangeable. But they aren't. Apparently. The nice lady is shop #2 broke a needle proving it today lol.
I just spent about 20 minutes with DH explaining to him my problem. How much I love my machine and how I've done so much with it, but I've done everything I can with a straight stitch and limited zig-zag. He is warming to the idea. We are giving this one last shot before I just throw in the towel.
That said, I just found an AWESOME deal on a Bernina on craigslist. Someone who probably doesn't know what they are sitting on (used Bernina for under $200). If it hasn't sold, I might just get that and call it done.
PAIF and SAIF welcome. IVF questions welcome, too.
He just emailed me back and it is still available! Why oh why did I not email him 12 hours ago?! I have to go back to work tomorrow and can't quite figure out how to meet up during normal hours.
Unfortunately, he answered my detailed questions (how many feet, manuals, last service, etc) with "it includes everything is came with and works as good as new."
