Re: It's too quiet...

  • Thanks for posting! I wanted a procrastination thread but couldn't think of anything to start. :)

What is your dream city/state to live in?  I really do love it here, but I'd live in DC otherwise. If it was only as warm as here...

What style is your dream home?  I go back and forth between super modern, and a nice, big country style, open and warm. We landed on the more modern side when we bought this one.

Would you rather be in the city or the country?  I love living in the burbs, but we go downtown about 3 times a week

Shop online or shop at the store?  At the store for clothes, and only online for other stuff if there's free shipping. I HATE paying shipping on principle, lol

    Dream job?  A chef

Describe the perfect date:  Something sweet, easy, romantic, with lots of time to walk around holding hands, or just sitting enjoying each others' company

Would you change anything about your wedding looking back?  I would. I've had a few thoughts since then, but nothing's really coming to mind now. Mostly just a plan on how to spend time with everyone, I missed a lot of people.

Is it weird to say "I got married last year"?   Haha yes! I hadn't thought about that!

Plans in the next year:  Save LOTS of money so 2013 can be a big year... (cont. below...)

Plans in the next 2 years: ...so we can go to Belgium in the spring as our pre-babymoon then TTC

  • What is your dream city/state to live in? Denver, CO from late April-September and New Braunfels, TX September-April. lol

What style is your dream home? I would love to live in a log cabin. I find them absolutely gorgeous, simple, and perfect.

Would you rather be in the city or the country? Country. H wants to have a minimum of 10 acres, so we'll be out in the country, if that happens!

Shop online or shop at the store? I like to walk around and look at what it actually out there. I'm also impatient waiting for the mail ;)

    Dream job? Travel photographer/food critic

Describe the perfect date: Ice skating with homemade hot cocoa. Then going to Iron Cactus (my favorite restaurant) for dinner, and then cuddling on the couch watching a new chick-flick. So corny, but I love it.

Would you change anything about your wedding looking back? Nothing specifically about my wedding. I might have invited one specific friend that basically hasn't talked to me since...

Is it weird to say "I got married last year"?  So weird for me. I feel like we've been married for a while and we've settled into our life as a married couple so well. I need to keep in mind that we're still newlyweds!!!

Plans in the next year: Save, fill up the baby box, prepare for TTC, and maybe get a puppy!

Plans in the next 2 years: Hopefully in 2013 we'll start TTC and we can be planning & setting up for Babyret ;) We'll probably move out of our house when the lease is up in April 2013, so house hunting will be part of the plans too.

    Anniversary
  • What is your dream city/state to live in?

I want to live somewhere that is warmer.  I cannot take the OR winters.  They are so rainy, and, tomorrow there is a forecast of snow, which means that there is going to be a run on the grocery stores and gas stations tonight.

What style is your dream home?

Well, first off, it has to be well constructed... so that throws a lot of the junk around here off of the list.  I don't want something that was built in the rainy season... that just blows my mind in general... but, other than that 2 story, great room downstairs, 2nd living room upstairs for a kids playroom.  Prob. 4 bedrooms, 2 car garage, and master w/bathroom and his/hers sinks.  With a yard.  Not too much to ask for.

Would you rather be in the city or the country?

I'm a 'burbs kind of girl.  I have NOOO interest in being somewhere where parking is a headache.

Shop online or shop at the store?

Both - I prefer trying on clothes because I have such an unusual shape that I like to see clothes on.

    Dream job?

Working for an accounting firm, but working as a developer of training procedures, trainings, evaluations, developing careers... etc.

    Describe the perfect date:

    April 25. ;)

Would you change anything about your wedding looking back?

I think I would have done programs, menus, that kind of stuff.  Maybe a cocktail hour.

Is it weird to say "I got married last year"?

    Yes!

    Plans in the next year:

Try to find above dream job, get Rocky into a post-bacc program.

Plans in the next 2 years:

See above... and add buy a new house.

  • What is your dream city/state to live in?

I love where I live- warm in the summer, cool in the winter. (MD, BTW)

What style is your dream home?

    I love brick-front, two-story houses.

Would you rather be in the city or the country?

Given those two choices, country, but I prefer small cities :) Mine is nowhere like NYC or Chicago or anything, but it's the biggest on the Eastern Shore of MD.

Shop online or shop at the store?

Store for clothes: I like to be able to try things on without having to pay for return shipping if it doesn't fit. I don't mind buying kitchen items or home items online though.

    Dream job?

I have it- I'm an elementary/middle school orchestra teacher. If this doesn't work out though, I always wanted to be a secretary growing up ;)

    Describe the perfect date:

Quiet dinner alone with H and a walk on the beach at sunset.

Would you change anything about your wedding looking back?

Nope! Except that we didn't get some of the pictures I asked for- I would have liked to get those. But nothing about the ceremony or reception- it was perfect for us!

Is it weird to say "I got married last year"?

LOL. I haven't had the opportunity to say it yet, but it's weird to think about.

    Plans in the next year:

I need to apply for my Master's.

Plans in the next 2 years:

Being almost done with my Master's. Painting our house once it finishes settling from building. I'd like to go on vacation with H soon, but I don't think it will happen this year, so I'll put this under 2-year plans :)

ETA: The font on TN is crazy! It would only let me bold part of my responses, and there was no option to change the text color!

Plans in the next year: we have a few vacations planned :) we're going to Mackinac Island in Northern Michigan (motor vehicles are banned on the island so the only modes of transportation are bikes and horse drawn carriages) and Richmond, VA (+ Washington DC or Asheville or the Outer Banks).

Describe the perfect date: Dinner at a fancy restaurant eating delicious food.

Would you change anything about your wedding looking back? I would've had it on a Saturday night. Having it in the morning caused it to be really rushed getting ready and less people came because it was on a Sunday.

Is it weird to say "I got married last year"? Yes, didn't it just happen?

Plans in the next year: Continuing searching for a full time job.

Plans in the next 2 years:Haven't thought that far ahead.

I have never heard you say this. Holy moly! I'm sorry that happened to you - I kinda feel like the same thing happened to us - I really wanted a wedding outside in a vineyard but both our families insisted on a more traditional route :/ What a bummer!

  • What is your dream city/state to live in?

I don't know actually. Maybe in California? or maybe I just like it here! :)

What style is your dream home?

    Brooklyn Brownstone :)

Would you rather be in the city or the country?

    City

Shop online or shop at the store?

    Online!!!

    Dream job?

    A money-tree-grower?

    Describe the perfect date:

April 24 :) <--- DH and my first date.

Would you change anything about your wedding looking back?

Yeah ^see above. I really wanted it in a winery but I really didn't have anyone helping me but my Mom and I knew she'd be overwhelmed by loose ends and "DIY"ing etc - so I went the ballroom route  because they took care of a lot of stuff for us.

Is it weird to say "I got married last year"?

    haha. Yeah a little!

Thanks. It was a huge bummer but it is what it is. Jason and I are married and we had a beautiful day with everyone we love (plus a few hundred more) and that is all that really matters. But we will def have a vow renewal or private ceremony on a beach somewhere, someday. Hope you and Matt can share a special time together at a vineyard/winery someday too :)
