sorry I've been MIA - actually worked this weekend (yes, on Saturday, boo) and have been cleaning, running errands... had a little bit if fun though because we went to Sky High Sports Saturday night for a friend's bday party, it was pretty fun (they rented out a space). I feel bad about missing the GTG, hopefully I can make it to the next one if I haven't already been banned from the board (I know husky is probably lobbying for this)!
On another note, does anyone have a suggestion for what I could mail my sister for Valentine's Day? I really wanted to mail her a Trophy Cupcake, but I guess they don't do that (I was hoping they'd figured it out!). I know about Harry & David, is there another website? I'm not thinking of anything big (literally, like one cupcake or something), just thought it would be a fun surprise for her.
Re: well hello there
I know you said nothing bit, but a 5lb gummy bear. For serious. I want someone to get one.
And yeah, friendship over.
wait, what if I send you a 5lb gummy bear?

Are you trying to buy my friendship? My friendship is totally for sale.

Sarack - I have no idea how to safely mail a cupcake :-/ the Trophy website says they haven't figured out how to do it, so I assumed it wouldn't really be possible.

What about some treats from Rocky Mountain Chocolate? They have chocolate covered nutter butters! Or you could make cookies, I made red velvet crinkle cookies the other day and they were yummy and soft.
Even though it wouldn't be super pretty what if you were to use wooden skewers and cut them to the right length, so that if you put the cupcake in a ziploc container you could keep it from hitting the frosting on the top? Then package it well in a small box.

I vote have a DC bakery deliver!
Also - I'm sad. DH bought me a 3lb green gummy bear for Valentines day a few years ago - I sent him a link saying they've upped the ante and there is now a 5lb one, but I don't think I'll get it
man, why didn't I think of this!!
thanks for the other suggestions too, hopefully one of these will work out

can I get this recipe?!

SO easy!
1 Box red velvet cake mix
6 TB butter
1 ts vanilla (I eyeballed it)
2 Eggs
Roll them in powdered sugar w/Cornstarch (~1ts to 1 cup ratio)
Cook them at 375 for 9 minutes
I cooked them on parchment paper but don't know if it is necessary.
this looks yummy!
I don't quite understand the bolded part: so I make a mixture of 1 tsp powdered sugar and 1 cup cornstarch?

Whoops! 1 cup powdered sugar to 1 ts cornstarch...
ok, that makes more sense
also, it's weird because powdered sugar already has some cornstarch is it, funny. I think I'm definitely going to make these!

Hey wait!! I gave away my friendship too cheap. I rescind it. I want a cupcake!!
DC bakery sounds like the awesome way to go. Alternately, Mrs. Prindables has really fun covered apples in all SORTS of flavor combinations (all 3 chocolate varieties, cookies & cream, nuts, caramel, etc).
ooh thanks! and of all people, I probably owe you the most. I probably should mail your some cookies
speaking of which... H picked "light blue" I think for the shirt, no idea why, although he said I could do whatever. Anyway, can you just make the handle darker and then we'll hope the printing turns out!
ok, so I just uploaded the old image again to look at it, and you can kind of tell that the "T" is "stop" is darker, so weird.
