Any spare T&P...

We're finally getting ready for DH's surgery - I can't believe it's Thursday. I think I told you guys about it back in the summer when we first found out. Long story short - he has an ameloblastoma - essentially a tumor in his sinus area. It's benign, but the surgery is still about 10 hours. They have to remove the back part of his upper jaw and a few teeth. With that, take a part of bone from his lower leg to replace the jaw. Hence the 10 hour surgery. He'll be in the hospital for about a week and then at home recovering (6-8 weeks we assume). It's going to be a looooooong road ahead of us and I can't believe it's almost here. I'm trying to stay as strong as possible for DH but I'm terrified. I know he's getting nervous about it all too (and rightfully so) but he's been really busy at work so I think that's keeping his mind off of things.

We've been lucky thought with both of our jobs. Mine is letting me work from home through the month of February. He has already filed for short-term disability and his boss has been great with everything. Also, our family and friends are close by so I know that we'll see more of our mothers than we'll probably want. But I know they'll be a big help while DH is holed up on the couch.

I'm just scared. I'm scared that he won't look the same afterwards (not in a shallow way). I'm scared that we won't be able to do the things that we love to do. I'm scared that something will happen during surgery. We finally talked about it all this weekend - he's not typically one to express being scared, etc, and it definitely helped calm me down.  We both just want the surgery and hospital stay to be over.

It feels really good to get this out now. (sorry that got really long winded) Any T&Ps that you can send our way - it would be greatly appreciated.
